I’m a Trump fan (on this one issue)
“The World Trade Center came down during your brother’s reign. Remember that,” Trump said.
He also called the invasion of Iraq “a big fat mistake”, and noted that Bush lied about WMD in order to launch that stupid bullshit war.
Trump does’t buy into any of the GOP’s fantasy world thinking on Iraq, and i give him props for that.
Reportedly Trump was booed several times for such outbursts of truth.
I watched the debate. There was a ton of booing. Trump was shouting, gesturing and interrupting. I’ve never seen anything like it. Yes, Trump usually does those things but this was even over the top by Trump standards.
I agree with Trump on the need to stop shipping jobs out of the country. Something not even Democrats seem overly concerned about.
It occurred to me that only a Republican can call Bush out on the Iraq war – because Democrats are complicit.
So noted.
Here is the interesting question of the week. Trump has made his reputation as a guy who has no time for “political correctness.” So, will this be the one time he is pilloried for defying the GOP’s own codes of political correctness which dictate that all the world’s ill flow from the Presidential terms of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, and that George W. Bush was a “good” President?
I suspect Trump will soften on W as he starts to internalize the Republican conventional wisdom this week.
If you tell a New Yorker Bush kept us safe you’d better duck.
The audience was full of donors that are for establishment GOP.
If it wasn’t for Trump’s bellicose bigotry, racism and the like, he might have some good policies.
