  1. pandora says:

    That’s a really powerful ad.

    (Yep, I cried a little.)

  2. Delaware Dem says:

It wasn’t staged, it was all spontaneous and sincere. That may have just won Nevada for her. We’ll see.

  3. Ben says:

I know Im being cynical, but what is she going to do? I’ve about had it with rhetoric and optics. Sanders does it, Clinton does it, Trump IS it. Tell me HOW.

  4. pandora says:

Both Hillary and Bernie would veto legislation that hurt undocumented workers. Congress controls immigration regulations, but the President is in charge of enforcing them. So there’s that.

  5. Geezer says:

And she’ll be just as sympathetic and caring to Lloyd Blankfein, whom she’ll see a lot more of than little children.

That one would cheer emotionally manipulative marketing says all that needs be said about the true motivations of some at this site. Notice that he’s Delaware Dem, not Delaware Prog.

  6. Dorian Gray says:

I thought Clinton’s campaign game recently was basically a third (and then fourth) Obama term. Not losing the incremental gains he’s made and all is what she said. Also, challenging Sanders’ criticisms of the President… etc., etc…

Not for nothing…. But, isn’t Obama the one who has accelerated these deportations?

  7. Delaware Dem says:

Yes, and Bernie did punch back with this point in their last debate, Dorian. For her part, Hillary has said she disagrees with the deportations and would stop them.

  8. Delaware Dem says:

Geezer… Delaware Pragmatic Progressive was too long.

  9. puck says:

The greater ugliness is in allowing this child’s family to believe that by entering illegally they could claim an American job and an alternate path to citizenship.

  10. Dorian Gray says:

Thanks… Duly noted. Although I do find it strange that Clinton hits out at Sanders for criticizing the President on some issues (she acts like it’s some sort of sacrilegious position on Sanders’ part), and also she disagrees with the president on some issues.

  11. Delaware Dem says:

Dorian, well, Hillary did not suggest a primary of Obama, as Bernie did. Further, Bernie’s whole campaign has this implicit (to some of his supporters, explicit) notion that Obama is a traitor to Progressives. That’s why Hillary’s attacks on Bernie on Obama support resonate more than Bernie’s Hillary Criticizes Obama Too response.

  12. Dorian Gray says:

Traitor is a bit strong, no? Just because people on the left try to highlight and exploit differences doesn’t mean Obama is a traitor. This is campaign season hyperbole.

  13. puck says:

I am sure establishment Dems were quite happy with first-term Obama. “Obama 1.0” deserved criticism from the left including calls for a primary and gave no indication he would shift his rhetoric or his actions to become Obama 2.0.

And as Bernie points out sharply to Hillary, only one of them actually DID primary Obama.

  14. Delaware Dem says:

Puck… that line from Bernie makes no sense and he sounds dumb when making it, and Hillary can slap him down with the “well he hired me anyway and says I was a great secretary of state” line.

Obama was not the incumbent in 2008. He and Hillary were running in an open election. To primary an incumbent President of your own party is a whole different animal than an open election. It is an explicit statement that the President has failed and you want him defeated and removed from office. I know Bernie regrets that action now that he is asking Democrats for their vote, but that does not take away the fact that he did it.
