Aside from two inexplicable RDs that George Parrish won in Wilmington, this map shows the perfect north-south divide of the Delaware Republican Party.

I wonder what explains KWS’s downstate wins other than establishment support? Perhaps they had no idea who Trini Navarro was. I was quite surprised at Navarro’s strength in Wilmington.

Lacy spent tons of her own money and campaigned for four years for 1 RD.

Parrish probably win those RDs 10 votes to 8.

  2. Gymrat says:

Mitch lost his own County, and RD……. not huge consolation but sweet in its way, In the end she was defeated in a former stronghold for a variety of reasons traceable to the Byzantine nature of the ballot full of competing interests in the City. Good luck to the new guy and a word to the wise remember the significance of March 15 🙂

  3. mouse says:

Stewart had so many signs out down here that I suspect it was purely name recognition. Glad she lost !

  4. Mitch Crane says:

I would rather lose my county and win the state then the other way around.

The only influence I exerted was in my own ED, which Trini won big. Trini won up north because of his name recognition and the anti Gordon-Williams-Navarro vote.

KWS won down south because most voters paid no attention to that race and voted for the familiar, or female name. The same reasoning explains how Barney won 7 Sussex EDs, where the party is not well organized- lost of mailings and first name of 6 on the ballot.

I don’t care if I lost my county when the consumers are the victors.

  5. Mitch Crane says:

Obviously I meant Gordon-Williams-Stewart. Multi tasking not good

  6. E. Gregious says:

I really don’t give a flying fuck where she won and where she lost. What matters is that Navarro basically wiped the floor with her, and that is as it should be. Dirtbag was long overdue for replacement.

  7. mouse says:

Wish we could vote out every candidate in the primary who side with corporate pigs over average people

  8. E. Gregious says:

@ mouse: it’s always about the money.

I’ve looked at Delaware maps for many years… Yours is the first rendition that looks like a fat man wearing a pompadour… Looking back, wondering why it never jumped out before…

  10. Jason330 says:

It may be that his maps (rightfully) follow the east side of the Delaware river in New Castle County, then jump over to the Delaware side of the river around the canal?

  11. Delaware Dem says:

Kavips, the template I used draws a boundary line straight down the Delaware Bay, which is correct, but puts the state boundary at the Delaware shoreline of the Delaware River north of the C&D canal, which is incorrect. It is our river! All of it. We have fought many wars with New Jersey over it.

  12. anonymous says:

There’s actually a small piece of land near Artificial Island that also belongs to Delaware.

  13. Dorian Gray says:

…and across the river at Finns Point! Also ours…

  14. liberalgeek says:

The key is that at some point (just above Hope Creek), it changes from a river to a bay. Once it’s a bay, we share it with NJ.

  15. Jason330 says:

MAN.. fuck that! It is called the Delaware bay. New Jersey can suck it.
