When your political party is deeply unpopular because it stands for nothing, and has no coherent brand identity, (Thanks, Carper! Thanks, John Carney!) you are starting out any special election 100 yards behind the starting line, wearing a 40-pound weight vest. So it is not surprising that the Democratic Party's lackluster party and brand building claimed another special election victim, as Hosfelt (R), trounced Kreiner (D) in a race for the Kent County Levy Court seat vacated by Bradley Eaby. The 2nd District has 21,029 registered voters — 10,045 Democrats, 5,626 Republicans and 5,358 other. Delaware Dems turned out a pitiful 660 voters (7%) to the DEGOP's 1,107 (20%). Even if you assume that ALL of Kent County District 2's "Other" voters are stealth Republicans, the GOP still turned out 3% more voters than the Democrats. This result raises an important question, what the fuck are Kent County Democrats doing? Seriously... what the holy fuck is going on when in these days of political unrest the County party can't muster up more than 660 voters?

My self-imposed exile from the news shows having (temporarily?) ended, I watched a lot of coverage of the Trumpcare battle the last couple of days, and also read the reports…

It is very simple. If they vote to invoke cloture... to close the Senate debate on the nomination of Gorsuch to the Supreme Court, they are voting for the validation of this President and this Presidency. They are voting to validate the Republican strategy of stealing a Supreme Court nomination from President Obama. They are voting to legitimize and normalize the Russian intervention in our political system. They are putting a black mark on their respective records. A black mark that they must never be allowed to live down.

This morning contributor R.E.V hand-delivered the following letter to the Wilmington office of Senator Carper. Later this week he plans to make a similar trip to Coons with other members of the DL subgroup formed to being the resistance to Senators Carper and Coons doorstep.

I wondered what Draco Malfoy was doing yesterday asking Comey questions. Turns out that was Trey Gowdy being his regular Republican asshole self. Republicans like Gowdy are not elected to govern. they are elected to fuck shit up. Gowdy was doing his damnedest to fuck up those hearings yesterday. Muddy the waters. Give the wingnut press some molehills with which to build mountains of outrage among their empty headed subscribers and listeners. If you edited the Republican portions out of the hearings and listened to the Democratic and Republican sections separately, you'd never guess they were taking part in the same hearings...on the same day...on the same continent... during the same century. When you think about it, Trump wasn't elected to govern "The United States of America," he was elected to fuck shit up in a country that only exists in the right-wing's imagination. He is applying himself to that task with alacrity, and the results are splashing onto us here in reality. Steve Bannon, the most powerful man in Trump's White House has a "disturbing history of bigotry, nihilism, and apocalyptic delusions" should not be allowed within 1,000 miles of power and yet, there he is. We are not Bannon's fellow citizens. We are mere bystanders in the vicinity of the GOP's mental breakdown trying to avoid random kicks and punches.
