Cranky Old A-Hole Vies for New Castle Pres.
I guess it was bound to happen. The cranky old a-holes feel empowered and disinhibited about running on racist themes thanks to Trump’s win. In spite of the click bait-y header (Meet Delaware’s Donald Trump: John Di Mondi), this News Journal piece by Xerxes Wilson does a fairly good job not turning John Di Mondi into some kind of Populist hero in the same way the national press breathlessly built up the legend of Donald Trump throughout last year’s run up to the national election. Wilson even manages to work in a bit of context:
Paul Brewer, research director at the Center for Political Communication at the University of Delaware, said Di Mondi’s controversial disposition and rhetoric is likely part of a larger wave of politicians who will seek to emulate Trump’s unlikely rise.
“In races going forward, I’d expect to see some people try to reproduce that lightning in a bottle,” Brewer said. “Trump did have some extra things going on that not every candidate can produce.”
Wilson also takes some time to bring in some expert testimony outlining the fact that racism is real.
Di Mondi is challenging incumbent President and old time-y DEGOP moderate, Linda Ratchford.
The incumbent is Linda Ratchford, who is Mike Ratchford’s wife. Ratchford was Mike Castle’s Chief of Staff when Castle was governor, and he’s as Republican and Chamber-oriented as you can get:

Not arguing for the a-hole crank, mind you. Just ‘edjicating’ the readers.
Best nugget by far was DiMondi bragging that his son married a Korean woman. “How racist is that?” He’s so woke he has a photo of them in his office!
Politicians imitating Trump? As if one sad assed joke is not enough now we get a herd of wanna bees to laugh at. As a die hard fan of cynicism, mockery and calling a fool a fool I say bring it!
What the h*** is the News Journal doing dedicating a front page headline and two full inside pages to some senility inspired, teabaggery spewing piece of nothingness. You can’t find one article about the progressive tax bills (HB 106, 107, 108 and 109), the LLC license reform measures (Hb 57), the “draconian” cuts proposed to public education (proposed by this Governor and supported by the JFC), the lack of transparency in almost every government agency, the fact that cuts are looming for those who can least afford them, or any other needed local information. Instead you are presented with distorted information (by the News Journal) such as “DuPont will save 600 jobs with sale” propagandizing on behalf of a company that cut 1700 good paying jobs recently. Here’s a headline for this ill-informed media arm for corporate lobbyists. “THOSE 1700 JOBS (by DuPonts and Delaware’s Secretary of Finance own public admissions) WILL NOT BE SAVED AND ARE NOT COMING BACK TO DELAWARE AND WILL NOT BE RESTORED”. Print that N.J. and save your trumpeting of a “trumpites” singularly insignificant and stupid existence for the comic section.

The Journal should be focusing on how we got 400 million in the hole and which elected officials are to blame.

@Tom Kline: If you weren’t so lazy you could do it yourself. It’s not some big secret. It’s mainly about the growth in Medicaid expenses.
400 million in the hole because of Medicaid increases? Thanks Obamacare!
Still elated
Not even close to true or factual.

So Albey is wrong? Say it isn’t so!
