It’s Call Chris Coons Week
Delaware’s Senator Chris Coons could well hold the key to the success or failure of the filibuster against Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch. He could determine whether the nominee of an illegitimate president will occupy the seat that was stolen from Merrick Garland by Rethuggery. Coons, of course, is wavering. (“They call me the Waverer, I’m the Waverer, I waver on and on and on and on and on…”)
This is bigger than Coons’ desperate desire for collegiality. This is about giving a lifetime sinecure to a judge who is terrible on the issues. It is about giving a president who may not last the year as president an historic influence over the Supreme Court for decades.
It’s up to all of us to let Coons know how we will judge him if he caves on this one.
Here are his office phone numbers:
Wilmington: (302) 573-6345
Dover: (302) 736-5601
Toll-Free: (877) 668-3368
Washington, DC: (202) 224-5042
If you don’t call, you have nobody to blame but yourself.
Done, strongly suspect they know my voice at this point.
I don’t accept the narrative that the Russians “hacked” the election, and therefore Trump is “illegitimate”, and shouldn’t have his nominees confirmed.
Did the Russians twist anybody’s arm at the voting booth? Did the Russians somehow affect the vote counting process? Did the Russians make Hillary do a remake of Weekend at Bernie’s that day in New York, or any of the other funky shit that she was doing?
What exactly was in Panetta’s emails that convinced anyone not to vote for Hillary anyway? Was it that it showed the rat finkness of the DNC, media, Clinton collusion to screw Bernie Sanders
If anybody is interested in an actual open effort to influence an election, they should look into the 2015 election in Israel, and how the Obama administration sent money and man power to try and defeat Netanyahu…And let’s not even discuss the multiple leaders that were literally taken out by the last administration.
Could be nuclear option time for Gorsuch….What’s good for the goose is good for the gander, right?
To wit, this gem appeared on TPM today:

LOL, okay Graham. The Dems aren’t the ones who held a SCOTUS seat open for a year while they waited for a nominee that was more to their liking (oh, and used it as a GOTV stunt), but sure, filibustering Gorsuch will be the end of bipartisanship on judges.
According to DE Public Media’s Facebook page, Coons will support the filibuster.
I think we did it. NYT reports Ds have the votes to filibuster… your move Old Kentucky Turtle Man
