Kowalko – “They (The Chamber of Commerce) own the House of Representatives and the Senate chamber”
As the lone vote against releasing CZA gutting (HB 190) from committee, Kowalko took the opportunity to drop a truth bomb on the process:
Still, Kowalko – who cast the lone vote of dissent Wednesday – said he expects the bill to ultimately pass the General Assembly. “Everybody is afraid to challenge the chamber of commerce,” he said. “They own this process. They own the House of Representatives and the Senate chamber.“
Wow! What a startling revelation! Stop laughing and get up off the floor as we’ve all known this for far too long. Corporations and corporatist politicians rule both houses of the states government. As of yet there is no real way to overcome the sheer power of money in politics, other than an informed and involved electorate. And none of us will live to see that in this state, or any other.
Kowalko, speaking truth to power…ashame there aren’t more strong voices.
