“Today, the Democrats demonstrated where their values lie. They have declared that that they cannot cut taxes for our wealthiest citizens and corporations any lower.  The idea that our wealthiest cannot get further tax cuts is mean-spirited and pathetic. The state government spends over $8 billion every year, and very little of that goes directly to the wealthy in the form of direct stipend payments.  Are we to believe that there wasn’t $37 million to be found anywhere to allow our wealthy to get into a negative tax rate situation?  Are we to believe that government programs are more efficient that wealthy people? Of course not.  But the JFC has not created a negative tax rates for the wealthiest Delawareans. Not even close.

We continue to be committed to real, permanent stipends and direct payments to the wealthy that makes Delaware better.  We look forward to further conversations that will lead to a more generous, state government.”
