Trump Came Up With Jr’s Phony Russian Meeting Meme. More orphan than not. Dictated the memo about how Junior should lie while on Air Force One. Sounds like Obstruction of Justice to me. Must-read of the day. Administration still leaking like a sieve. BTW, Trump’s lawyer had specifically asserted that the President was not involved in crafting the memo. That was untrue.
DNREC Cited For Slow-Walking FOIA Request On Delaware City Refinery. The term ‘environmental regulation’ is an oxymoron in this state. Which is the main reason I don’t like the CZA changes. We can’t count on an agency that doesn’t regulate to regulate those who would would break the law.
The Wilmington City Council Slush Fund Stinks Real Bad. Doesn’t the silence of self-styled reformers Loretta Walsh and Bud Freel tell you something? As someone who knows how Freel and Gerald Brady manipulated public funds for a paving project at St. Anthony’s, it tells me something. And doesn’t surprise me in the least.

Even though facts have no standing, some people think that it is a big deal that the Republican President dictated the memo about how Junior should lie about the meeting. I guess we’ll see.

By the way, Jedra and the Journal ripped this City Council slush fund thing wide open. She’s chasing Shabazz all over the city. If that doesn’t inspire you to at least purchase an online subscription, I don’t know what to tell you.
In the last 10 years I’ve purchased every book I’ve read or given as a gift from Jack and Gemma (between 50-100 books per year). I still have fingers crossed that they can find someone to come in and take over. I’m nervous they may not, but they certainly deserve a pleasant retirement.
Off topic, but something to think about:
As far as controlling and manipulating social constructs and using the entire spectrum of media to do so, especially that of the entertainment industry, the progressives are hands down the winners.
This tool for political gain, this manipulation that the left uses, can result in positive outcomes for society, but it can also end up being detrimentally divisive…..Case in point, HBO’s new controversial series about a scenario where the South won the Civil War and slavery still exists today….Coincidentally coming out just in time for the next election cycle.
Guess what? HBO isn’t liberal or conservative. I’m sure you can guess what it is if you think about it. Also – I haven’t heard one liberal clamoring for a Alt History take on the civil war, or express anything but contempt for the idea.
Finally, spouting this notion that “the media” is liberal just identifies you as a dummy, so there is that.
I agree with FBH. Reminding people of the truth and imagining a piece of fiction based on it is extremely divisive. I think this says more about the people than the truth though. It’s quite instructive actually.

Arts and entertainment is “the media”, and it is well known and established that the left dominates it.
Well established. Because entertainment has to be creative and entertaining. It’s just naturally so. Sort of like how great athletes dominate professional sport.
FBH, the opposition to the show is coming primarily from the left, so how is the show a Machiavellian attempt by the left to steal the 2018 elections? HBO is a corporate interest, relatively non-partisan. Your premise that the show is a vehicle by which the left will wrest controll of Congress from deserving Republicans is just sheer nonsense. Here’s what I mean by projection. It has been reported for years that Fox “News” and the GOP march together — the daily RNC talking points form the basis of their morning news meetings (this was reported years ago, I’m not going to google for links).

Sure. I’ll give you that. FOX = Republican Party for the most part, but the Democratic party = CNN, MSNBC, NBC,CBS, ABC, PBS, etc.
I personally don’t give any of them credence, and that includes FOX. If anything, I watch CNN mostly, but not for any meaningful information purpose.
I have noticed that even with their major media advantage, the left can’t stomach that there is even a single right of center media outlet on television.
I bought the new Tom Perrotta novel in the shop just this afternoon. Gemma and I chatted about your retirement. Very happy for both off you and still hoping someone picks up the standard and fights on.

KUDOS to Christina Jedra for doing a great job with the Council slush fund story. She is like a terrier who won’t let go. Good for her exposing clear gov’t corruption. And good for City Councilman Bob Williams calling for a criminal investigation by the US Attorney’s office. Strong response to this scandal.
