Bob Marshall Draws First Challenger. Jordan Hines. Pretty impressive resume, although membership in the Monday Club is hardly a qualification. Questions: What does he stand for? Where is he on minimum wage, death penalty (where Marshall, to put it charitably, has been wobbly), willingness to raise taxes to pay for vital programs, etc.? What is the raison d’etre for his candidacy beyond his desire to be somebody? Like, say, for example, Sherry Dorsey Walker, who may well run again? He also sure has held a lot of jobs in a short amount of time. Why? I agree that it is time for Marshall to step aside as he’s become a less reliable supporter of progressive issues. But I’m tired of vanity candidacies, even (especially?) successful ones like LBR’s. I’m in no way dismissing Hines’ candidacy, just looking for the substance behind the candidacy.
