Hopelessly Lost, John Carney, Sounding Exactly Like Someone who is Hopelessly Lost

Filed in National by on September 26, 2017

Man-oh-man I’ve already had it with Carney.

Unemployment numbers in Delaware reached a two-year high, according to the latest preliminary data from the state’s labor department.

If the information holds true, it will mark the 12th consecutive month the state’s unemployment rate has either climbed or remained the same.

The rate, 4.9 percent, is the highest since coming in at 4.9 percent in May 2015. It hasn’t jumped to five percent since February 2015. Meanwhile, the number hasn’t fallen since mid-2016.

“These numbers aren’t where we need them to be, which is why we continue to be focused on our number one priority: helping businesses create good-paying jobs across our state,” Gov. John Carney said. “I spent much of the summer talking to Delawareans and business leaders about ways to grow our economy, and we will keep working day in and day out on this issue.”

Blah, blah blah. What a loser. “I’ve talked to people.” Oy-vey!

He doesn’t dare mention his crony capitalism committee because it is already a stinking embarrassment. And yet, as far as stinking embarrassments go, the crony capitalism committee takes a second place to the clusterfuck GOP state budget he meekly signed after getting utterly pwned by the Republicans.

His term cannot finish fast enough for me.

  1. Didn’t he spend the spring talking to the same people? Is he not capable of independent thought?

He came into office with only one idea firmly ensconced in his addled brain:

“Do what the Chamber tells me.”

    Same crap, different governor.

Markell talked alot when he first ran about his biggest concern for the future was companies ability to up and move to other countries with ease putting Delaware in competition with not just other states, but the globe. And the days of long term employment were over because business’ will be much more volatile.

And Delaware can’t compete with that. We even aren’t on the map.

Bloke is out of his fucking depth.

  4. Arthur says:

What we need is Amazon to move here, 3-4 more ‘sports complexes’, ‘manufacturing jobs’, 2 more casinos and expanded online betting

  5. RE Vanella says:

…and absolutely no legal, taxed weed. No.

    He’s a fucking dynamo.

Rereading this, I’m a little surprised Carney didn’t say that we need to cut taxes and regulations for “job creators.” I’m sure he was thinking it. His “talking to Delawareans” no doubt means that he was talking to the Chamber of Commerce about just those job creating strategies.

What is his vision for Delaware besides to pay him another pension? How will he deal with a state in financial chaos that can’t even raise the gas tax for obvious road infrastructure needs? How will he protect the environment and public health from parasitic land raping developers and polluters? How will he bring living wage jobs to DE?
