Russia’s state-run doping program has gotten Putin’s kleptocracy banned from the Winter Olympics. Think about it — how dirty do you have to be to be too dirty for the frickin’ Olympic Committee, the most corrupt agency on the planet?
Glad to hear that the athletes — the ones who test clean, anyway — can still compete, under a neutral flag. My modest proposal would be that all the athletes compete under a neutral flag, or better yet a blank one. But the truth is that without flags next to the athletes’ names, there would be no audience for a bunch of sports people watch once every four years and don’t miss in between.
