    Just because one is a recognized singer/musician does not qualify one to sing anything and everything. Song choice should have as its first principle – Primum non nocere (First, do no harm).

    I have no use for either Tom Waits nor Leonard Cohen singing their own material. It’s past time for Bob Dylan to put a cork in it, too.

    Absolutely brilliant lyrics, but I have to admit that I had to look them up on line, because half the time I couldn’t figure out what he was singing. Once you look up the lyrics, you appreciate the brilliance of this song all the more. It’s on a par with “Fairytale of New York,” in theme. Is it possible that Tom Waits and Shane MacGowan were separated at birth?

    Does anyone remember Tom Waits’ appearance on “Fernwood 2Night”?

    As it’s now Xmas Day, may I be the first to wish all Delaware Liberals a Happy Holiday!
