Coons on Morning Joe to Delaware Dems “Go f&ck yourself”

Filed in National by on January 23, 2018 20 Comments

Kasey Hunt MSNBC: “Activists were on a call yesterday and some of them expressed anger with Amy Klobuchar…because they feel she betrayed progressive values and talked about potentially primarying her and said that this could spread across the map. Do you think Democrats are facing a potential insurrection like the one Republicans faced in 2010?”

Coons: “…I’ll say to Democrats, if you want to lose a guaranteed safe seat, have the kind of senseless devisive primary that happened here in Delaware…”

I call bullshit. The Dem primary in Delaware is the election. If Coons or Carper is knocked off, all we’ll get is a Democrat that actually represents the interests of his/her constituents.

Song Of The Day: Jan. 23, 2018

I’ve worked most my life at a prison nearby And I’ve raised two sons and a daughter I knew all along, as I watched them grow strong They had a need for adventure Nothing could quell the longing they felt From the back of our lonesome holler Still I hoped somehow, they could find […]

Dems folded a losing hand on DACA

You remember the Overton window, right? Well, it has moved. 538 reports that Trump has moved the debate on immigration so far to the right that Democrats are now scrambling for some crumbs that were not even considered controversial when immigration reform was last considered in congress. Let’s be honest. The Overton window was moved […]

What campaign is Mitch Crane quitting the IC’s office to run?

See what I did there? Took a piece of info and jumped ten steps into the future. I do that sometimes. Especially when I see talented pols like Crane making moves like this.

Seemingly Mentally Ill Internet Commenter Presumably Functions In Outside World

Filed in National by on January 22, 2018 0 Comments

Other than when they poke fun at Joe Biden, I don’t typically link to The Onion but this one is spot on. WASHINGTON—Though his incoherent, deeply uninformed, and often abusive internet comments seem to suggest he suffers from severe mental illness, web user DaemonX is in all likelihood a normal individual capable of functioning in […]

Shutdown Resolved: Schumer Beat McConnell’s Ass

McConnell is now Schumer’s prison bitch… or something. I’m not sure the government shutdown resolution is that dramatic, but our GOP readers seem to go in for the violent homoerotic stuff. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said Democrats will vote today to reopen the government. “We will vote today to reopen the government to continue […]

Open Thread Jan. 22: Eagles and Catfights

Filed in National by on January 22, 2018 3 Comments

As Philadelphia football fans continue chanting the longest word they’ve learned how to spell, life continues elsewhere, except in much of the federal government. The Jets and the Sharks in Congress couldn’t get their choreography together so now the whole government is shut down (suggested headline: This Bunghole Is Corked). You can’t swing a dead […]

2nd least trustworthy man in America says, “Trust me”

If Democrats agree to end the shutdown without DACA and CHIP vote dates on the calendar, they are suckers. As the scramble to end the government shutdown dragged into the work week Monday morning, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) urged senators in both parties to vote to fund the government until Feb. 8, and […]

Song Of The Day: Jan. 22, 2018

Mike Dinsmore Week commences.  Listening to Mike’s choices, it’s clear that he favors folk music of a political bent.  A broad palette of such songs.  We head north to Quebec for a taste from ‘Quebec separatist and environmental hero’ Richard desJardins:

PA GOP Rep Patrick Meehan A-hole and Dumb as F&ck.

This is a two-fer. How often do these creeps reveal themselves to be: 1) A creepy old fuck, and 2) dumber than a box of Oreos? WASHINGTON — Representative Patrick Meehan, a Pennsylvania Republican who has taken a leading role in fighting sexual harassment in Congress, used thousands of dollars in taxpayer money to settle […]

It hasn’t occurred to Congressional Republicans that they are in big trouble in November

It hasn’t occurred to Congressional Republicans that they are in big trouble in November

There were big protest marches all over the country today. There appears to be no drop off in excitement when it comes to getting organized for November. If anything, Trump and the Congressional Republicans continue to feed the frenzy.

Pink hats in January = Blue Wave in November
