DE Libertarians Confront Attempted Ballot Access Theft

This message was up on a site called Radio Free America. Was it posted by the actual “Libertarian Party” or another fraudulent Libertarian Party calling out a different fraudulent Libertarian Party? We may never know.

Seven Dover Democrats Pledge Gun Money to Charity

Matt Bittle of the Delaware State News posted the story late Monday: Seven Democrats in the General Assembly who took campaign donations from gun groups have pledged the money to charity. Bittle’s list of Democrats who took donations goes back further than mine, and so included a couple of lawmakers not on my list, so […]

West Virginia’s teachers on the front lines of another trickle down failure

Tax cuts for West Virginia’s largest businesses somehow did not bring the economic benefits that the state anticipated. As a result, teacher pay in the Mountain State has fallen to the 48th-lowest in the country. In addition to barely getting by, striking teachers point out that West Virginia schools are now dangerously understaffed as younger teachers flee the state in search of a living wage.

On Presidential Heroism

Filed in National by on February 26, 2018 2 Comments

Donald Trump today made his most deranged statement yet since assuming his office, claiming that, had he been there, he would have confronted the Parkland school shooter even without a gun. Let’s establish some facts here: If your 10-year-old said that, you’d think it was cute and brave. If your 20-year-old said it you’d get […]

Know Your Firearm Fondlers: State Rep. John “Larry” Mitchell [UPDATE]: Larry Sees the Light

State Rep. John L. “Larry” Mitchell isn’t a major recipient of blood money — $100 in 2016, another $100 in 2017 from the Delaware Foundation for Legislative Action. The question is why he took any at all. Democrat Larry Mitchell, you see, is an ex-New Castle County cop and current Chief of Security at DelTech, […]

How America works in 2018

1) Trumps states that he would have run into Parkland HS to save students.

2) Next week the story is revised after Trump convinces himself that he did run in and stop the shooting.

3) Later that same week, Trump-bots attack random people who question Trump’s version of events.

4) The media covers both sides of the “debate”.

5) The following Monday morning Chris Coons appears on Morning Joe and states, “People of good will on both sides of the question have to agree to disagree on the total number of students Trump saved that sad day.”

Open Thread Feb. 26: Stupidity Springs From the Barrel of a Gun

Filed in National, Open Thread by on February 26, 2018 14 Comments

Every time America has another mass shooting, gun owners demonstrate that gun ownership is inversely related to intelligence. Or, to paraphrase an old axiom, if all you’ve got is a gun, everything looks like a target. The Parkland school shooting victims are finding that out, as they have been inundated with death threats from ammosexuals […]

Can Carper and his cancerous moderation really be defeated in a primary?

Can Carper and his cancerous moderation really be defeated in a primary?

It is self evident that Tom Carper’s loyalty is not to the people of Delaware who have constantly returned him to office while hoping for the best. His votes, his public statements, the things he shows concern over set him apart from the concerns of the people he “represents” in the US Senate. But can he be defeated? I have always answered “no” that question. But now that I take a good look at Carper and his club of insiders, now that I see Professional Dems being exposed for what they are all over the country, I’m putting my cynicism on the shelf.

I love this band. I love them so much that I’ve booked them at the Arden Gild Hall for April 7. Voted Best Band at the Freshgrass Festival. Perhaps more importantly, they made it into my 50 Fave Tunes Of 2017 long before I booked them. This is a different tune, I like the karaoke […]

Pete’s Continued Hold on the Speakership in Doubt?

I’m not great on this stuff. This is more of an El Som type post, so I’ll just leave it here and step back. But it seems to me that all of the House retirements are from Pete’s stable of lackies…. I mean supporters. Does that mean all of his empire building might come to […]

Open Thread Feb. 25: Puff the Magic Rifle

Filed in National by on February 25, 2018 7 Comments

American corporations are fleeing the NRA faster than bullets from a semi-automatic rifle, and the NRA’s response sums up perfectly why people own guns: The organization, which claims 5 million members, called the corporations cowards. That’s what the guns are about, you see. Without lifelong friend Puff the Magic Rifle, little Jackie Paper cannot be […]
