Song Of The Day: Feb. 25, 2018
Heard this song on XPN yesterday, really liked it. At first, I thought it was Todd Rundgren, but it wasn’t. It was from another Philly-based legend, though. For some reason, this song had dropped completely out of my memory bank:
The NRA Loves School Shootings
Dana “Super Hot Mom” Loesch tried to score points the other day by claiming the media “loves” school shootings because they like grieving white moms. She claimed it’s good for ratings, which, in fairness, it is. As always, though, the charge is more aptly applied to the conservatives making the accusation: The NRA represents gun […]
And Then There Were Three — Democrats. Plus 23 Republicans (with updated list)
In the past 48 hours, four of the Democrats in Delaware’s General Assembly have donated the campaign donations they received from the NRA Political Victory Fund and/or the Delaware Foundation for Legislative Action, a local affiliate, to a charity for victims of the Stoneman Douglas high school shooting. Those actions deserve applause and appreciation. While […]
Desperate White House Releases Schiff’s Memo
The White House, under pressure about Jared Kushner’s inability to get security clearance as well as facing questions about Trump’s half-assed ideas about school security, tried to change the subject Saturday afternoon by letting Democrats release a redacted version of their rebuttal to the infamous Nunes memo, which you’ll recall was the biggest dud since […]
Taking money from the NRA disqualifies you from running for office as a Democrat
The original headline over the story read “Taking one cent, ever, from the NRA should disqualify you from ever running for office as a Democrat”
I’m not that hard line. I’m willing to cut some slack on past NRA contributions (provided they are publicly disavowed), but have zero tolerance for any going forward. Times have changed. The NRA was once a sportsman’s association. It isn’t now, and it hasn’t been that for a long time.
“The Bloody Five” Dems Banking the NRA’s Blood Money
There is no excuse for these Democrats. Receiving campaign funds from the radical NRA means that they are, soft on gun crime, and on the side of mass murder.
Open Thread Feb. 24: The ‘Guns for Teachers’ Distraction
Be prepared: The Guns for Teachers proposal is polling close enough to 50-50 to make it the top choice for Republicans who don’t want to talk about banning military-style assault rifles. As political communications professor Dave Karpf of Rutgers says, “It’s a ridiculous proposal. It’s an unserious proposal. It’s an offensive proposal. And the thing […]
Who could have predicted this tax chaos?
When you write huge tax breaks on the back of a cocktail napkin, then ram it through congress at one minute before midnight, shit happens. The glitches in the new tax law are starting to pile up. One inadvertently denies restaurants, retailers and others generous new write-offs for things like remodeling. Another would allow wealthy […]
UPDATED: While Firms Flee From Blood Soaked Sponsorships – Hall Long Donates NRA Money to Shooting Victims
UPDATE: Bethany donated the money she received from the NRA in 2015 to the Stoneman Douglas victims fund yesterday.
The radical organization continues to lose corporate sponsorship…
Song Of The Day: Feb. 24, 2018
That pernicious Russian influence is everywhere. Even…the Song Of The Day? From Russia with love for Elvis:
Dirtbag Dan Short Whines About Carney’s “Knee-Jerk” Reaction
House Minority Leader Dan Short is the latest Delaware politician to pretend to care about the public while in thrall to the gun lobby. He criticized Gov. Carney’s call for banning assault weapons. “We had a federal ban on assault weapons between 1994 and 2004. It proved ineffective.” No it didn’t, shitbag. Look it up. […]
Carney Runs to Catch Departing Train
Here’s how obvious the changing momentum on guns is: Gov. John Carney heard the “All aboard!” call and is now running to catch the train. He issued a statement today — sorry, no news conference in a state with no TV outlets — calling for Delaware lawmakers to ban “assault-style” weapons. “In the coming weeks, […]
Know Your Firearm Fondlers: State Sen. Anthony Delcollo
Of all the blood-soaked members of the General Assembly’s gun caucus, none is more odious that Anthony Delcollo, the little turd who defeated Patty Blevins for the 7th District Senate seat that runs from his native Marshallton in the south to Hercules Road in the north. He used a ton of gun money to do […]
