Greg Lavelle scurries away from constituents gun questions
Lavelle has apparently deleted NRA and gun related questions on his Facebook page and blocked constituents who are interested in his views on the topic.
Lavelle shown here trying to escape from constituents questions by rappelling (abseiling?) down the side of a building.
He’s also blocked at least one constituent as well. When contacted about it, his admin (or whomever) acted dumb like they didn’t know what happened.
Dumb. If you are getting in bed with the gun lobby, just man up and say you like the warm breath of the gun lobby on your back.
@jason: Far better to have the gun lobby breathing on your back than putting a gun to the back of your head. (but these guys don’t know the difference.)
That’s because there is no difference.
@jason: I don’t know if that was an intentional slip, but the guy is pretty repellent.
Jason uses Reverse Spell Check. It incorrects words for you.
Just a reminder: Lavelle took $250 from the Delaware Foundation for Legislative Action — $100 in 2016, $150 in 2017.
Can’t wait for Laura to totally blow this guy out of the water come November
Given that she’s a teacher and all, she ought to be making statements about this…hint, hint. Where does Greg stand on arming teachers?
He’s beyond highly vulnerable on this. Many upstate Republicans could fudge this, but as a party leader he has to parrot the NRA. The longer she takes to do something here, the less faith I’ll have in her as a candidate.
Amy Cherry got an opinion from Richard Smolla on a different issue recently where if it is an official elected’s social media, it is not permissible under free speech law to censure comments. If it is the personal social media page, they may block whatever they want.

Interesting. Thanks, Nancy. Not being on SM myself I don’t follow developments there.
You know, the politicians and lobbyists used to just talk to each other but started to worry they were being bugged. Now they may have to go back to it. How times change, and change back again.
True, but they just end up looking like a dick for doing it. I’d say keep commenting and keep getting deleted and/or blocked.

Kevin Ohland has some posts up about it too.
Hi Alby! I know you don’t follow SM which is why you don’t know that I made a statement regarding the student-led movement to address gun violence on my campaign FB page. I also discussed Lavelle’s voting history around gun legislation in my interview with Delaware United that is up on their website, my FB page, and YouTube. For what it’s worth, I am coordinating with a colleague in the school where I work to give students guidance and place to plan for various upcoming events inspired by the Parkland school shooting: the school walk-out on March 14th, the marches on March 24th, and the day of action on April 20th. I’m sure I’ll have more to say on the issue in the coming days and weeks. Meanwhile, I welcome your advice on how I can get out my message about gun safety legislation and protecting our students . I don’t have reporters calling me for statements, but maybe you know how I can get them interested in what I have to say. I’m interested in hearing from you and I’m only a phone call away. 302-388-0662
I’m sure the opinion editors at the News Journal and State News would love a well-reasoned op-ed on a timely subject.
The State News, in particular, is in dire need of mentally sound voices.
Laura is a total joke of a candidate , you fools are sooooooo rabid and crazy.
@My my you are scared: You gun people just don’t get it, do you? Every time you attack you prove our point.
Thanks Alby. That is sound advice. I have been wanting to write something but have been swamped the past several weeks at work. Things will ease up by the end of this week. I’m not being cute about calling me. Seriously feel free. I am a fan. I don’t get cell reception in my school building where I am now, but I usually get out of here around 5:00 pm or 6:00 at the latest.
@Laura: The comment from MMYAS should be taken as positive evidence you have them worried.
Yeah, loves to trigger the libs, this new one. Clever.
Game’s played out, though. They know. It’s all they have.
