Eddy ‘The Chief’ Clearwater, one of the best from the Chicago blues scene, passed away last week. In his heyday, he simply was one of the most exciting blues performers you could see. My brother was in grad school at Northwestern at the dawn of the ’80’s, and he turned me onto the Chief.  I’ve been grateful ever since:
