Bipartisanship Forever! Coons Takes Wing With GOP Lame Duck

Don’t accuse Sen. Chris Coons of doing nothing about Trump’s treason. Yesterday he swung into bold action by — INTRODUCING A RESOLUTION! Better yet, it’s a BIPARTISAN resolution! The Republic is saved!

Or maybe not. His Republican symbiote on this is Arizona’s Jeff Flake, whose career died when he attacked Trump and scared any other Republican from trying the same. Flake accepted reality months ago and announced he’s not running for re-election, so he’s the Senate version of a dead man walking.

You’ll also notice that this is about as bold as introducing a new breakfast cereal that tastes like chocolate, peanut butter or both. It’s a resolution that calls for relevant committees to exercise their oversight duties, which of course they could start doing whenever they like, resolution or not.

Coons is like that guy in your office who always looks busy but never produces anything useful.
