DL Endorses Jordyn Pusey And Dave Carter For New Castle County Council

Two superior community activists are running for NCC Council.  They are both committed to the public interest, and they are uniquely qualified to serve.

Jordyn Pusey is running in NCC District 1 against Ken Woods who, other than following in the footsteps of his father, displays little interest in making any kind of difference.  A political legacy, nothing more. Pusey, OTOH, has been President of the Civic League for New Castle County since 2016 and has been president of her Brack-Ex/Roselle Civic Association since 2009. When you’ve served as the head of your civic association since 2009, it is clear that your motivation is service, not ambition. Here is more about Jordyn.  While Woods is not noxious in the sense of Bill Powers, he is the quintessential empty suit.  Pusey possesses the ideal combination of knowledge and commitment to community to serve with distinction on County Council.  She has our enthusiastic endorsement.

Dave Carter sums up his candidacy for NCC District 6 best: “It’s kind of, oddly, maybe the job I’ve been training for and practicing for and preparing for my whole life,” he said, describing his education and governmental and advocacy work.” Yes it is. Carter was an environmental manager and unrelenting environmentalist with DNREC until 2012.  He then got a doctorate in public policy and administration at UD.  Wouldn’t you love to have someone like this as your County Council member?:

“I’ve been fighting for communities for many, many years…I’ve been outspoken on good government; I’ve tried to hold government accountable…I will do everything I can to listen to [my constituents] and adjust to [their] needs,” he said. “I am out three or four nights a week as a hobby working for communities and advocating, if that becomes a six- or seven-night-a-week [job]….it’s just something that not only do I think I’d be very good at it, it’s something that I just truly love to do.”

Contrast that with the incumbent, who gets his campaign funds from, and votes with, the developers.  And read everything that Jason has written about Carter and Powers this week.

Two great choices: Jordyn Pusey and Dave Carter. Don’t just imagine them on County Council. Make it happen.
