What is Bill Powers hiding…this time ?

We already know that Bill Powers is unburdened by a concern for rules. We’ve reported that he blows off rules regarding the use of county personnel and resources for his campaign, and now we find that Powers scoffs at campaign finance reporting rules.

At least two significant contributions to Powers have gone undisclosed by his campaign:

– Laborer’s Union 8-Day Report: On 8/17/18, the Union made a contribution of $600 to Friends of Bill Powers.

– Plumbers & Pipefitters Union Report: On 8/7/18, this union made a $600 contribution to Friends of Bill Powers.

These contributions, and perhaps others, are nowhere to be found in Bill Power’s reporting documents.

– Powers’s 30-Day Report should have disclosed the Plumbers $600 contribution on 8/7/18, and it is simply not there, nor is it on any amended report or the 8-Day Report.

– Powers’ 8-Day Report should have disclosed the Laborer’s $600 contribution but this is also not reported.

These instances add to significant concerns already circulating about Powers’ ethics. This one, dealing with fundraising practices, warrants an immediate audit of his campaign’s accounts.

If Bill Powers is not willing to report these types of contributions by unions who themselves are responsible for reporting, then what other contributions have not been reported?

How many laws does Powers get to flaunt?  How many free passes does Powers get in this campaign?  And if he is this ethically impaired as a candidate, how ethically does he approach his job on council?
