Anti Carper Ad Airs During Morning Joe
Drug companies have a monopoly power over pricing. Why? Because politicians like Tom Carper vote to give it to them.
Carper sided with drug companies over people who need life saving medication.
While many struggle to pay for prescriptions,
…Tom Carper rakes in thousands from drug companies who rely on him to keep a monopoly grip on pricing.
Tom Carper – supporting drug company greed over our needs.
Paid for by patients for affordable drugs action.
Here’s the answer to the question you posed on the other thread.
Yeah, it’s this chucklehead’s least term. Does he stick with the moves left he made during the campaign? No idea. But there’s absolutely no reason we shouldn’t keep tightening the screws.
Fact is he’s a politician. He doesn’t want bad press or activists in his office. Full Stop.
Keep up the pressure.
Good point.
Long, long overdue. Same for the rest of the Dems in thrall to Big Pharma, Chris Coons this means you.
I’ll believe Carper has changed his tune when his votes start backing up his newly discovered positions. Meanwhile, have to keep the pressure on.
The sad thing is it’s either him or the snake oil faux religious republican developer maggot from Sussex County council.
Arlett wishes he was a developer. He is a Realtor that had his house up for a Sheriffs Sale.
Man, it’s too bad that the Harris campaign didn’t have the money to do an ad like that. Everything in it is true.
Yeah, who is doing this ad? The republicans or one of their corporate crook donors?
“Paid for by patients for affordable drugs action”.
In other words, some anonymous Citizens United PAC. Don’t worry, anonymous PAC’s will soon rush to Carper’s defense.
What passes for our democracy in 2018.

Yeah. The message is accurate, but who knows the true aims of the messenger? They could just want a piece of the monopoly.
Anyway, it sure would have been nice to see this three weeks ago.
Here’s their web site.
Their first target was Bob Hugin, the former Pharma exec challenging slimeball Bob Menendez in New Jersey.
The irony, of course, is that Menendez is in the thrall of Big Pharma at least as much as Pharma Exec. Hugin. Menendez was vulnerable as long as–they didn’t nominate a Pharma exec to run against him.
Pharma is a major NJ industry. Like banks in Delaware, they give to both sides and don’t care that much who wins as long as they get what they want.
Right. As if Arlett was gonna go up against Big Pharma. The ad is probably designed to reduce turnout. The thinking probably is that, if turnout for Carper is diminished, it might help down-ballot R’s.
El Som,
Down-ballot R’s like Walker, Simpler and Spadola? Or the D running as an R for AG? Or an R incumbent facing a tough challenger (Greg Lavelle)?
None of them would have sufficient value for an out-of-state PAC for that tactic to make any sense. More likely: it’s a way to attack Carper without forcing Arlett to figure out his own position on the issue. Not that he has any chance at all, but you don’t want Arlett talking about any healthcare issues because anything he says will make him a bigger loser.
Simpler. You’re right, though. Not sure why they’re wasting their money here. I doubt the ad will run all that much. Limited impact, at best.
John and Laura Arnold’s Action Now Initiative gave $3.1MM at the end of June to fund Patients for Affordable Drugs Action. My guess is that these ads aren’t specific to Carper, but target different markets in which different pharma-friendly lawmakers are highlighted in the ads.
As much as I agree with them about Carper, this ad on Hugin is far more effective, and Menendez’ seat is in play more than Carper’s is.

Republicans are now running ads against Tom Carper. They point out that Tom put the interests of big pharma over the interests of Delaware voters when he voted no on the bill to make legal getting drugs from Canada. It is true, but to imagine Rob Arlett, paid for by Trump, is a better pick for voters is laughable. Tom’s weak. Rob is just another crooked Trump ally. Vote for Tom (hold your nose)
Different from the ad with the Monopoly board?
