Where the $#@% is Matt Denn?

Filed in National by on October 1, 2018

Granted, national news has been sucking up every bit of oxygen. But crimes are still being committed in Delaware. One criminal that isn’t getting any attention is Mike Ramone. Where is the investigation into the fact that Ramone used his government position to get his political opponent fired from her job?

On its face it is a crime. Why isn’t Ramone facing a judge yet? For that matter why isn’t this crime being reported outside of blogs? Where the hell is Allan Loudel? I’d ask, where the hell is the News Journal, but we all know that the NJ is basically useless.

Does Ramone have nude pictures of Denn or something? I’m asking because Ramone had those skinny dipping parties. Maybe Denn and Loudell…?

A more serious question is – who does this work? It is plain that a crime has been committed. How does an investigation get started?

Ed Note: You may have gathered that I was back and forth on whether or not to use profanity in the headline.

Thanks for the link. That makes it pretty clear that Ramone broke the law by using his position to pressure Barry’s employer.

    Where is Denn?

  2. RSE says:

I don’t know anything about this other than what I’ve read on this blog, but if Mrs Barry had a grievance, wouldn’t she have sought some sort of action against PAWS? Maybe she violated policy and was legitimately terminated EOS , but more likely I’m guessing they forced her into a shitty little severance package deal with a confidentiality agreement attached. It sucks but it happens all of the time.

    • Dan says:

There’s no reason to believe she hasn’t, or won’t, because we’re well within the statute of limitation for any claim she could have, and in any case, filing a charge of discrimination with the Dept. of Labor (confidential) is a prerequisite to filing suit.

In any case, though, Delaware’s an at-will employment state, so unless she was fired for some unlawful discriminatory reason (race, gender, etc.), she wouldn’t have a strong claim against PAWS. Firing someone in response to unlawful threats from a third party is not, as far as I know, an unlawful employment practice.

      • RSE says:

“Barry refused to comment or speculate on whether her original Facebook messages got her fired or whether Ramone’s email inquiries led to her termination.” – WDEL

“I’m just moving forward with my life,” she told WDEL.

That sounds like she signed an NDA to me.

Like you said, it’s really hard to get the Dept. of Labor on your side, especially if you don’t belong to a protected class of human, and if she wanted to fight, they probably would have pulled the severance package.

“just following the rules” give me a fucking break, what a load of shit. Any nonce with a fifth grade education could see that she meant her employer was letting her run for office and anyone with a shred of decency would let it slide even if it was mildly suspicious. Mikey must be getting worried.

  4. RSE says:

She claimed to have had “the support” of her “employer (PAWS)”.

You could reasonably infer that the facebook message had only conveyed that the employer (PAWS) was copesetic with Mrs Barry running for office while she was employed at PAWS, and not actively endorsing her in any way.

  5. Anon says:

Why is it that most lefties need non-profit or government jobs? Even her son couldn’t cut it and had to be hired by the Dems. Not having to compete must make it easier to advocate for stealing the value of other people’s labor.

    • Dan says:

You mean guys like Brett Kavanaugh?

      • Anon says:

And Kathy Jennings, Jesse Chadderdon, Tizzy Lockman, almost every Dem senator, all millennial operatives…on and on…

I’d list them all out but it’s too long- pretty much everyone active in the DelDem Party. Pathetic.

        • Alby says:

Stephanie Barry worked for a non-profit for years before filing to run for office. Your premise is flawed because it’s stupid and easily refuted. Up your game.

        • RE Vanella says:

Kathy & Tizzy are “millennial operatives”.

That’s some dumb-fuck shit there, boy. And it’s only 10am on a Monday

          • ben says:

The notion of “millennial operatives” is just fucking dumb…. but hilarious. Yes, anon, an ENTIRE generation that is younger and stronger than you is plotting against conservatism. If i were you, i’d jump on the ice float now.

            • RE Vanella says:

It’s like an idiot madlibs… To own the libs!

millennial antifa operative outside agitators funded by George Soros to destroy the whites!

Notice they all sound like fucking dipshits? I do.

        • Alby says:

Oh, this guy’s a gem. He’s obsessed, still posting despite several bans, which means he’s gone through some effort.

The amount of time conservatives spend jerking off is scary.

          • Anon says:

Anyone who speaks the truth or facts gets banned. This blog is a circle jerk of society’s rejects. A real life cantina scene from Star Wars.

    • pizzastuffedcollegekid says:

her son stole my bike and called me a nerd 🙁

    • Alby says:

Capitalism runs on stealing the value of other people’s labor. You seem to be not very bright.

      • Anon says:

A lot of time to read Marx and other labor value theories now that you’re unemployed?

        • Alby says:

You sure have a lot of time to spend on the internet. Unemployed yourself?

My category is retired. I don’t need to work and don’t intend to. How about you, little boy. Still working because you can’t afford to retire?

          • Anon says:

            Forced retirement*

            Fixed it for you.

            • Alby says:

Were you there? Typical conservative, just making shit up.

No answer to my question, so I guess you’re still toiling away.

Oh, wait, it’s 10 a.m. on a Monday. So that’s why you’re obsessed with unemployment.

          • RE Vanella says:

I have to tell you guys. This obsession with Al’s retirement is fucking weirdo shit. It makes you guys look real jealous and petty. Or I should say more jealous and petty than usual.

Also it’s fucking stupid. First you make anonymous comment about shit you don’t know and could never know. Second, what the fuck is the difference? Are you married? Does your spouse earn income? Bizarre thing to us as a criticism.

You guys are real bottom feeding scum. But I suppose we knew that already.

          • Alby says:

No, sorry, she’s retired too. But keep guessing. It really does you lots of credit.

Meanwhile, you’re not working because…. or are you doing this on the clock?

Just so you don’t miss the point: I’m richer than you. Nah-ha!

PS: Ever hear of Apple? Once upon a time you could buy its stock for very little money, and now you can sell it for quite a lot. Look it up, you seem to have time on your hands.

PPS: You seem to be putting a lot of effort in trying to tell me about my own life. You might want to have that looked at by a professional. What kind of person does that?

        • Delawarelefty says:

Living in your mom’s basement got you down Anon?

  6. Alby says:

I’m just surprised PAWS didn’t tell Mike Ramone to shove it. This is over the princely sum of $5,000.

Barry’s refusal to blame this on Ramone makes it a non-story, so moving on with her life is unlikely to include spending time in Dover.

    • NCCDem says:

Story reads like someone had to sign an NDA

      • Alby says:

        Agreed.

The upshot remains: Ramone is a petty little shit who thinks he’s giving out “grants AND aid” money, not grants-in-aid, and thinks that “manor” is the right way to spell the word even when its meaning is “manner.”

I knew he wasn’t bright, but I didn’t know he was this dim.

  7. Paul says:

There is at least one other instance of an employer getting in the way of a candidate running for the State Senate. I have little idea of the details, as the candidate suffers from job insecurity. There should be guidelines to establish when a candidate could genuinely harm an employers interests and when it is political extortion to deny a candidate an opportunity to serve the community.

    • Alby says:

There is a reason that hourly workers are completely unrepresented in any governmental assembly.

By design, our politics is dominated by self-employed professionals (lawyers, mostly, but doctors and dentists are big in the GOP) and small-business owners. It’s the main reason that our “representative democracy” is neither.

      • pizzastuffedcollegekid says:

a lot could be solved by increasing the minimum wage

        • Alby says:

Not the problem of people who work 9-to-5 not being able to participate in politics because their jobs won’t allow for it.

          • Bane says:

The legislature should be a full time job. You shouldn’t get to make laws while earning an income from a company or a government agency.

  8. Al Catraz says:

Even if we buy the ridiculous notion that Ramone was “just concerned about the rules”, then it should have been equally obvious that he had an obvious conflict of interest in inquiring directly with PAWS, and should have simply referred the matter to a competent and responsible authority. By going after them himself with his implied threat, he removed any fig leaf concerning his motivations here.

  9. RE Vanella says:

I demand the maledicta be returned to the title of the post.

    Thank you. Not the management.

  10. puck says:

I think Denn can’t get involved unless there is a complaint. Maybe DelDems have standing to make a complaint, but if Barry isn’t willing to come out fighting, they won’t.

Maybe it’s a job for House leadership on ethics grounds, but the Chamber-friendly Democratic establishment is protecting Ramone because they prefer Ramone to a Democrat

  11. RE Vanella says:

I demand an explanation on the self censorship! 🙂

  12. XDem says:

Where the HELL is Matt Denn ?

Out to lunch with Carmen SanDiego.

Patrick Miller of Brandywine and Indian River SD fame is still on the loose, collecting a state pension as are assorted other corrupt officials.

    • Alby says:

Good point. Has anyone ever figured out who’s protecting Miller?

      • RE Vanella says:

Rabbit hole. Do you feel it?

        • Alby says:

Sure. But he’s not wrong. Outright theft isn’t a partisan thing.

          • RE Vanella says:

He’s not at all wrong. I just have a low tolerance for accusation based on absolutely nothing. Petty personal vendettas and rumor. Not very much out there and an anonymous commenter mentioning Carmen San Diego is not promising.
            You know what I mean?

But, or sure, if someone has like info on it. Fire away.

  13. Kathy Jennings a millennial operative? I think she’s a little younger than me, but neither of us are millennials. Unless baby boomers are millennials.

    • Alby says:

Actually, the problem is the way you wrote it.

Again, typical conservative. Blame others for your shortcomings.
