It isn’t just the cruelty. It is the cavalier “we don’t give a fuck” attitude that makes us a country of monsters. I don’t know if the Brittish in India were this bad. At least they pretended to have some higher calling. Christianity and civilization pushing darkness and savagery off the world’s stage, and all that.
So much bullshit, of course. But we don’t even have the bullshit.
