The 2018 MVP (Most Valuable To The Progressive Cause) Award Winners

Filed in Delaware, Featured by on December 19, 2018 6 Comments

With one exception, this list comprises those who I considered the most valuable to the progressive cause in Delaware this year. The one exception is a legislator who put together one of the finest careers I can recall.  Let’s get started: 10. NNAMDI CHUKWUOHA: I had been screaming, screaming, for someone to challenge one of […]

Coons Admits that the National Prayer Breakfast is Nest of Spies and Enemies of the Republic – But He is Still Going to Co-Chair it

Senator Chris Coons, co-chairmen of the 2019 National Prayer Breakfast, admits that the National Prayer Breakfast gives access to spies and enemies of the Republic, but says he is going to continue so co-chair it..because…it is… wait for it… nonpartisan.

“It is unfortunate that some have attended the Breakfast in the past for the wrong reasons,” (Coons) said in a statement to The Times. “Nevertheless, we’re as committed as ever to ensuring that the 2019 National Prayer Breakfast is a success and follows the tradition of being nonpartisan and unifying.”

The 2018 MVP Honor Roll

Filed in Delaware, Featured by on December 18, 2018 8 Comments

2018 was a year unlike any other, at least when it came to putting together my MVP list.  So many first-time candidates, outstanding candidates, who came out of nowhere and changed both the present and future of progressive politics in Delaware. Best year ever? Yes, I’d say so. In the past, I’ve listed Honorable Mentions […]

Financial Markets Down in 2018 – I guess the “economy” is shit now

NOT BREAKING: The shit, house of cards economy is a shit house of cards economy.   Since the financial markets are the only measure of the “economy” that get covered in the news, I guess this all means that the “economy” is now officially shit.  Investors are somehow resisting the magical power of tax cuts.

Alone on Christmas Day – Phoenix

Filed in National by on December 17, 2018 2 Comments

This song is from a crazy little Christmas Special Bill Murray did in 2015.  Watching the special on Netflix has become a holiday tradition in our house. Here is what wikipedia says about the song:  “Alone on Christmas Day” is a song written by Mike Love and Ron Altbach for American rock band the Beach […]

MELISSA FRANCIS (CO-HOST): …He (Cohen) says that the president directed him to [violate campaign finance laws]. If that’s true, then that basically clears the president, because he used his own money in order to do this. Which, you’re allowed to spend as much money on your campaign as you want Hmm…

So now we’re the country that kills 7 year old girls in custody

So now we’re the country that kills 7 year old girls in custody

It isn’t just the cruelty.  It is the cavalier “we don’t give a fuck” attitude that makes us a country of monsters.  I don’t know if the Brittish in India were this bad.  At least they pretended to have some higher calling.  Christianity and civilization pushing darkness and savagery off the world’s stage, and all that. Chris Coons Must Disassociate Himself From the National “Prayer” Breakfast

In 1953, President Dwight Eisenhower began the tradition of the National Prayer Breakfast.  Whatever benign purpose it was founded to serve, it has morphed into something far from benign.   It is now a nexus of anti-American criminal activity.   A nexus of anti-American criminal activity that Senator Chris Coons Co-Chairs.   Now that Maria Butina has […]

Dec. 14 Open Thread: And the One-Man Band Plays On

Here’s a hint that Trump’s flailing mania is not an act: Even without an audience who believes a word of it, his tweets keep on rolling, asserting statements with no basis in fact, airing dubious legal theories, and proving no match for the reality. He’s the second little piggy, the one who built his house […]
