I love Gillibrand
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand formally launched her presidential bid on Sunday morning, announcing she will deliver her first major speech next week in front of Trump International Hotel in New York City.
I also love whoever the Dems nominate provided the contest is fair and transparent. That said – this was another headline that was hard to write.
Vince D’Anna would be proud.
Please check the facts, readily available in our archives, of how Biden and Carper voted in lockstep to deny even the most basic protections for families facing foreclosure. Why? Because they represented MBNA, not the people who voted them into office. Go ahead, bone up on those facts, then respond.
“Most progressive candidate who ‘will be in’ the race”? Uh, no. That is verifiably a lie. But that’s what he said at last night’s State D Dinner.
Human beings are permitted to evolve in their values and thinking, except politicians whom we seem to want to label from the womb. I don’t think we have always done that, (Robert Byrd). Whoever the candidate, they have said and done things that are looked askance at in today’s culture and society. Obviously there are limits to forbearance of the past, but generally, their more recent history is a greater indicator of the future than their younger selves in the long past.
I’m not a fan of Gillibrand for getting a good grade from the NRA. I’m more bothered by the Franken affair, which seemed like jumping on the bandwagon to me.
Grabbing the reins on the bandwagon, more like.
Not a fan either, not my kind of Dem to say the very least. As noted she was head cheer leader for ousting Franken and seems NRA friendly. Better then a Republican, but just barely.
Just watched her do a Town Hall in Michigan with Chris Hayes.
Gotta admit, I was far more impressed than I expected to be. She’s running as a progressive, and she had a strong grasp of policy solutions.
My only criticism was more stylistic than anything else. She seemed in a rush to get all her stuff out there, and might do well to slow down a bit.
But is she credible? In my opinion, absolutely yes. To my surprise.
