Filed in National by on May 4, 2019
Former campaign manager for Eugene Young/Kerri Evelyn Harris and Network Delaware activist Drew Serres join RE Vanella in the bunker (back in February) to talk about how he got into activism, how other people can get involved in changing their communities, and what the future of progressivism in Delaware looks like.

Wherein we learn that Drew was once a professional musician. Double base in a Mariachi band!

    So dig this.

Friend of mine in the neighborhood, actuary, works in Philly. Interesting cat. Listens to podcasts on the train everyday. That’s his thing.

I turned him onto my shit months ago. I just had a few beers with him this afternoon. Hadn’t seen him in a while.

I completely forgot I recommended my podcast. Then he brought it up. I asked him what he thought.

    He said:

I gave up after like the fourth episode. It’s too esoteric and niche to local politics. Can’t follow.

But… (He said).. I never knew the Governor was such a god damn asshole. Jesus, that guy sucks.

    I said…

No need to listen to another episode. You got it. My work was a success.

    • Hmm says:

      You’re so edgy bro.

      • REVanella says:

I thinks it’s more obvious that edgy. I’m just having a bit of fun.

Imagine if you could set up a professional sound studio. Hire producers. Book interesting guests. Produce shows. Comment on politics. And spread the message…

All using my real name! Hahaha. It’s a fucking gas!

Yesterday I recorded a special one. It’s drops Friday. Don’t pretend you’re not jealous.

        • Hmm says:

Sounds like a hell of a time.

It’s more your self congratulatory assholery that bothers me.

          Enjoy your hobby man.

This seemed like a place where people would enjoy that story. (It’s a true story!)

Frankly, I’m very satisfied with the work we’ve done so far. (My producers are just as involved on mic, on the knobs during recordings and on post production.*) I’m talking it up because, like, I’d be cool for people to listen to it. Think of it like this. It’s advertisement that’s in character and on brand.

(I would usually not be so explicit and sort of break the fourth wall, but you seemed genuinely confused.)

*Big up the Karl F Stomberg and Margaret Hu! In true Marxist fashion the podcast is a co-operative!
