Lisa Blunt Rochester would like you to know that she is proud to have pre-surrendered to the GOP on Min Wage
Here is what LBR says about the Dems vote to “raise the min wage”:
“Good for the economy. Good for the workers. It’s been 10 years & it’s long past time we #RaiseTheWage.”
Her is the timid, mincing schedule the Dems have promoted, to raise the min wage to $15.00 by 2025!
It would increase the federal pay floor to $15 per hour by 2025, then index future increase to median wage gains.
The minimum wage hikes would take effect on the following schedule: $8.40 in 2019, $9.50 in 2020, $10.60 in 2021, $11.70 in 2022, $12.80 in 2023, $13.90 in 2024 and $15 in 2025.
HUZZAH!!
2025… wow! A crafty pre-compromise surrender to the GOP as usual.
Truly inspiring.
This isn’t a bad compromise. 6 years, once you consider that there are states who are at the federal minimum wage and would need at lease 6 years for companies to more than double their hourly rate… Not sure what you’re upset about? Again, I think you’re looking for reasons to be outraged by her, and you’re kinda sounding like Roger Ailes and Fox News’ coverage of Obama in 2009.
“This isn’t a bad compromise.”
Thank you for that illuminating comment. I think we’ve discovered the problem here folks.
Some Democrats, like LBR, want to go into negotiations HAVING ALREADY COMPROMISED. You honestly don’t see a problem with that strategy? Be honest.
Do keep in mind that it’s all window dressing. If it’s not going to happen anyway, better to look reasonable than radical. That’s the thinking, anyway.
Yes. God forbid the Democrats appear to be strong supporters of popular initiatives. They might be regarded as less than bipartisan on Morning Joe.
Now that they’ve been called socialists that’s out of the question.

Bane: (stupified & embarrassed silence).
