Song Of The Day For Oct. 8, 2019: The Allman Brothers-Whipping Post
The Allman Brothers were one of several bands who made their name in the ’70’s, but who first emerged in the late-60’s. You still hear 1969’s ‘Whipping Post’ on Classic Rock radio. And here, except I’ve chosen the classic Live From The Fillmore East version, purportedly the greatest version of the song ever:
Going to throw this up in the music post today. Rich at Squeezebox Records and Bert from the Vinyl Aid board are hosting a casual reflection on the work of the recently deceased jazz/rock drummer Ginger Baker on Friday 7-9pm. 1901 W 11th St (between Lincoln & Union).

Ginger Baker, of course, was part of ‘Blind Faith’, one of the earliest supergroups.
