The Dumbest Thing I Wrote All Year

I was going back through the archives while working on my MVP Awards.  Meaning, I went back to January and looked at pretty much every post that had relevance to Delaware. I have been accused, and fairly I might add, of being at least a skeptic and often a cynic. However, as you will see, the dumbest thing I wrote all year was due to blind trust in the integrity of public officials, one in particular, who proved me to be so so wrong. 

From my April 11 Post-Game Wrap-Up/Pre-Game Show:

The gun bills have been introduced. Supporters and opponents have mobilized. Just remember: Pretty much every mouthbreather who opposes these bills has nothing better to do than to drag their butts to Dover.  About 200 of ’em.   Over and over again. In poll after poll, support for reform measures is overwhelming.  Here’s Matt Bittle’s twitter feed of yesterday’s dueling demonstrations.

True to his word, Sen. McBride has placed the bill in a favorable committee–The Executive Committee, to be precise. Four out of the five committee members are likely to vote to release these bills from committee. That’s progress, folks.

Except, of course, it wasn’t. McBride, Nicole Poore and Cathy Cloutier all voted against releasing the bills from committee.

All three of them should be excised from the General Assembly. Me?  I’m working real hard to renew my faith in my fellow humans. I’ve got a ways to go…
