Front Country Coming To Arden–Courtesy Of El Somnambulo…
…and the Arden Concert Gild. Who the bleep is Front Country, you might ask? Well, they won Best Band honors at both the RockyGrass and Telluride Bluegrass Festivals. Their lead singer, songwriter, and force-of-nature Melody Walker, won the Best Songwriting Competition at Merlefest. Here’s the thing, though–they’re not essentially a bluegrass band. Hey, why try to describe them when I can share some performances?:
Of course, they CAN go full-on bluegrass from time-to-time:
Great taste in covers, too:
Think they’d be fun to see in concert? What more could you ask? What’s that you say? How about an Irish songstress who no less an authority than Paddy Maloney of The Chieftains praises as a ‘voice that must be heard’? Well, I’ll have to pay extra for that, but if you insist:
Now you may be saying, ‘That’s all well and good, El Som, but how could I possibly afford tickets to such a great show?’ For $17 (or $14, if you’re an Arden Club member), you can! And because I like you veryvery much, the first libation will be courtesy of moi, El Somnambulo. You can send me a message on the tip line, or you can get tickets at ardenconcerts.com, or at Between Books, 2115 Marsh Road, Arden DE. Or figure out some other way to get in touch with me. The show is on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020. Doors open at 7, show starts at 8.
Looking forward to seeing some of you in our sylvan burg of Arden…
Mr. Sleepwalking Sombrero (that’s the translation google gave me?) … is it true one can get DINNER before the show? And that is home cooked and must be reserved at adgreservations@gmail.com by the Thursday prior at 6 pm? And that said dinner is pretty cheap and starts at 6? And that it is BYOB unlike the concert? Just wondrin!
