Linda Gray And Coby Owens Headed To Primary…

Filed in Delaware, Featured by on January 7, 2020

for City Council District 1.  Linda Gray, who was appointed to serve out the term of Nnamdi Chukwuocha, had been going back-and-forth about whether she would file. Today, she filed.  I’ve already interviewed Coby Owens, and I like him.  I think that Linda Gray has done a real solid job on Council and I’d be happy to interview her as well.

Here’s my one concern.  If someone from the self-dealing Potter family jumps in, will one of these two candidates step aside to keep them off of council?

I don’t know. But I hope so.

Linda gray has done a marvelous job.

Coby has finally revealed he is less of a pure activist and what many of us always knew a guy looking for an opportunity to get in political office. There is zero ideological or work ethic reason to challenge Linda gray.

    • RE Vanella says:

Hasn’t faced a vote so out of simple democratic principle she should face a primary.

Could you be a little more clear about what Coby has revealed? I mean if it’s revealed you should just tell us?

Of course he was planning to run for office. Doesn’t everyone who runsj for office first plan to run for office? What are you talking about? Is he too young and ambitious? Is it the social media selfies? What is it?

All these anonymous Linda stans are so fucking vague. It’s annoying. She hasn’t done much in mine months after her second choice appointment. (The city council barely does anything.)

      I demand specifics!

    • C’mon, man. You’re dealing with intelligent people here. Neither Linda Gray nor Coby Owens have faced the voters before. If ‘looking for an opportunity to get in political office’ is a negative, then nobody would run for any political office, would they?

I interviewed Coby. I outlined what he told me in an article here on DL. I liked what he had to say, and I’m an admitted skeptic.

I’d be more than happy to interview Linda. In fact, I’ll see if I can arrange it.

But the idea that someone should wait their turn and/or to wait until someone makes up their mind as to whether they will run is not good for the democratic process. Run, let’s have a contest, and give the voters a choice.

    • Gobias says:

Will Coby be able to survive the “Wants to be elected so he can do good things?” scandal?

  2. RE Vanella says:

Sometimes I get the feeling people just get an idea and start believing it and saying stuff. Linda Gray stans better start thinking of something better than she hasn’t fucked up in 9 months since that farcical process that got her appointed to a vacant seat. Because so far it’s been very very weak.

  3. RE Vanella says:

I want an annotated list of accomplishments to support this “marvelous” job claim. No one will produce one! I know the bar is very low on the council, but you just can’t say vague shit on here anonymously and expect anybody to be like, “Yeah, I guess del dude is right.” This person hardly anyone knows who wasn’t even a first choice appointment to a vacant seat is a municipal hero after 9 months!

  4. Deldude says:

She has been a life long activist, a parole officer, a magistrate judge and is well liked in the community. She has been professional in office and great with constituent work.

I guess I could answer your question by asking what has Linda Gray done wrong??

    • RE Vanella says:

Is that the rationale in democracy? Ok.

Yeah she won appointment 8-4 now she is absolutely entrenched & can’t be questioned!

You definitely understand how politics works.

She was a cog in the criminal justice machine. Her politics aren’t that great. Hence, we have an election.

I do love how desperate you all seem to defend her tho. Cool stuff. Little piece of advice. Get used to it. Ex cops who are Democrats can get ready for challengers from the left. Nobody is safe or good enough. Stop fucking crying about it.

  5. RE Vanella says:

Coons is professional and does get constituency services, if he thinks your part of his constituency… Most of us aren’t actually. Depends how much money you have.

You establishment folks haven’t had real viable political enemies in a very long time. This I think explains your confusion.

  6. RE Vanella says:

Remember, comrades and friends. I love my haters most. Someone famous once said, I welcome their hatred

  7. RE Vanella says:

El Som. When you talk to Linda ask her why she voted against the grant for research to curb gun violence.

Also, why she voted the blight bill out of committee that activists disagreed with.

    Those are 2 good ones.

  8. RE Vanella says:

I wasn’t even mad till Josh commented.

  9. Don’t float unsubstantiated rumors. No good can come from it…

    • RE Vanella says:

Is it really a rumor if I said I started the rumor?

Anyway, the only bad that who come of it is if it were true!

Fact is if you want to come at me personally while remaining an anonymous commenter the least I should be able to do us have fun with it.

      And I will!
