Will Collaborationists Coons and Carper Vote for McConnell’s Corporate Giveaway?
Mitch McConnell and his Repugnant caucus get their corporate bailout/worker fuckover bill through the Senate? They need Democratic votes to do it. Will Carper and Coons play along?
Given their normal proclivities, signs point to “Yes,” particularly if other Democrats give them cover. Tomorrow morning would be a good time to flood their offices with phone calls.
Carney just dropped the “stay at home” hammer, goes into effect Tuesday morning. As for Carper and Coons will call repeatedly, they deserve it and I need something to do.
Mitch needs them more than ever. Mitt is self-quarantining, Paul already Dx’ed positive, so he’s down to 51 Rs, and others likely missing.
Mitch irresponsible if he prevents a vote, humiliated if he can’t assemble a majority.
Well, good to see that you guys are willing to put aside politics in the middle of a national emergency. Jesus.
1) I’m sorry, was all politics suspended? Apparently not, and since this is a political blog, we will continue to not put aside politics.
2) We are not “in the middle” of a national emergency. We are the beginning, and not even the middle of the beginning.
3) Jesus doesn’t like people like you.
Thankfully, the ‘stay at home’ hammer does not apply to liquor stores.
I checked.
They both voted no.
Glad to hear it. Thanks for the update.
So “signs” pointed wrong?
Yep.
Wouldn’t have to rely on signs if either one would pipe up about any of this, would we? They’ve been even more useless than usual from what I can tell.
You will also notice that even Joe Manchin voted no, which means they didn’t get the cover they needed to vote otherwise.
Most Democrats would reject a corporate-loaded deal out of self-interest. In the case of Delaware electeds, protecting corporations is their self-interest.
Or were you only interested in saying nyah-nyah?
Because I”m in Paris, I did not see Coons at his usual perch on MSNBC, where he said, in part, this (h/t to Nancy Willing at Delawaresay.blogspot.com):
Loans. As if bankrupted restaurants are going to have any use for loans.
He’s a collaborationist. Deny it all you want, FS, it won’t change the reality.
