Song of the Day 4/22: Neil Finn, “Heroes”
In case you hadn’t noticed, the interwebs are awash in musicians performing home concerts, generally alone with an acoustic guitar or piano. I’ve caught several of them, but this one stands out — not just for Neil Finn’s choice of a song that can be interpreted as a tribute to all those people who have to work through this pandemic, but for his adoption of the bed-head look that’s all the rage during social isolation. My favorite part is Finn’s smile to the camera at the end.
Yep, no gigs of any sort to be had so bands and musicians are going to podcasts, it’s a great idea and I suspect it will stay around. Especially for original artists it’s surprising it was not more prevalent before the virus.
