Democrats Draft ‘Justice In Policing’ Act. Read this, then ask yourselves: Is a senator who places the feelings of the widow of a Philly cop ahead of the fight for voting rights likely to support a package like this? If not, what will you do to change the equation?

These Protests Are The Coalescing Of A Movement. The protests have become more peaceful over time. Some police have revealed their true racist nature. Others have joined protests. The sheer size of these protests over more than a week now is truly inspiring. The hard work is just beginning, though (see 1st article above). Which doesn’t mean you shouldn’t embrace the moment. You should, and then you can take the inspiration as far as you can.

June 5, 9:23 p.m. White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany called out Contra Costa County on its recently announced health guidelines on Twitter, but CoCo was having none of it.
“In Contra Costa County, new ‘health’ guidelines allow protests of 100 people, but restrict religious services until June 15,” McEnany wrote on Twitter. “Social distancing should remain data-driven and apolitical: If you can protest, you can pray.”
Contra Costa Health Services was quick to correct McEnany.
“This is not accurate. Outside gatherings of up to 100 people are now allowed for protesting and religious gatherings, as allowed by the state.”
Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia later added: “Kayleigh, get your facts straight! Contra Costa’s new health guidelines allow both outdoor religious services&outdoor protests. We take public health seriously&make decisions based on #scienceoverpolitics.”
Also it is asinine for people to keep saying defund the police, IMO. Instead say defund militarization of the police. We need to have peacekeeping and law enforcement in a civil society. Advocate for Criminal Justice Reforms and no para-military.
I’ve always been a staunch union man, and I think what the nation needs are more unions, lots of them. But I also think the police unions are dangerous and need to be reformed whether they like it or not. The politicians remain their usual cowardly selves and of little help. Perhaps the time is now to take them on and make them change.
Yes, the NRA supports “law Enforcement Agencies” police unions for gun sales. The moral de-coupling, forget about it. A police organization will make a speech before the cameras saying that automatic weapons kill their members and their against them. But it’s just a photo op. The press never seems to connect the important dots. Maybe the police unions and the NRA can be brought down at the same time?
