Police Unions Are The Enemy. They thwart reform at every turn. ‘I Can’t Breathe’. 70 cases, the same three words. Utterly compelling.
Report: Trump’s Psyche ‘Fragile’. Could Drop Out. Maybe that’s why Pence has started to wear a mask. He would become the first robot to run for President, which is why he didn’t need to wear a mask in the first place. This is rampant speculation that I’m more than happy to run with.
Yep, Russian Bounties Resulted In Death Of US Soldiers. Did they pay off on those bounties? Looks like it. NYTimes reports that American cash has shown up in the hands of some Taliban:
The crucial information that led the spies and commandos to focus on the bounties included the recovery of a large amount of American cash from a raid on a Taliban outpost that prompted suspicions. Interrogations of captured militants and criminals played a central role in making the intelligence community confident in its assessment that the Russians had offered and paid bounties in 2019, another official has said.
I’ve said it before and I’ve been wrong, but this might just bring down Le Grand Orange.
That ‘White Power’ Retweet: Today’s lame excuse: Trump’s a ‘ big fan’ of The Villages, didn’t hear ‘White Power’ chant. If he’s a ‘fan’ of The Villages, he might want to stop the spike in coronavirus cases in The Villages. To (half-) wit:
The counties that comprise the villages are Sumter County and Lake County, Florida. Cases in Sumter County have grown by over 600% in the past two weeks, and cases in Lake County have more than tripled. And that’s with Florida’s underreporting of cases. BTW (I can’t make this up), Trump is also a big fan of a St. Louis white couple who pointed guns at police reform protestors.
Why The Mueller Probe Failed. In a word, timidity. It’s worth reading all the words of this outstanding article, though.
NYPD Used Curfew To Terrorize Black Families. Spare me the ‘few bad apples’ meme. Police work attracts racists who just want to bust heads.
Why Many Utah D’s Have Registered As R’s. Call it the ‘Reverse Markell Effect’. They’re trying to help nominate a moderate R for governor. Might just work.
The Coming Cash Cliff For Unemployed Americans. You, of course, know who will be hit hardest by the slashing of these benefits.
Delaware At Much Higher Flood Risk Than FEMA Projects. How about second only to Louisiana?
What do you want to talk about?
“Leaders from the Delaware State Troopers Association, Delaware Fraternal Order of Police, and Delaware Police Chiefs Council published a letter this week saying that law enforcement groups were “under attack,” not just from criminals and protesters but from Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings herself.”…WBOC
Just a guess, but I would assume that the police union told the cops to back Kathy Jennings in her election. I sort of have to laugh.
No they didn’t. There was an ex-cop, Mullaney(?), who ran in the primary. That’s who they wanted.
Yep, Timothy Mullaney. Finished 4th in a four-horse race with less than 7% of the vote. 20-year career cop.
Nice try, though. Sure beats looking it up.

5-4 decision. Chief Justice Roberts cited Stare Decisis in joining the majority.
“Report: Trump’s Psyche ‘Fragile’. Could Drop Out.”
I give this a 0% chance of happening. Wishful thinking by Republicans who see the damage Trump is doing to the GOP brand.
It’s definitely not a 0% chance, IMO. People who know him say that he is terrified of appearing to be a ‘loser’. He almost seemed resigned to losing in that Hannity interview. He’s not gonna be able to get that adrenaline rush by holding nearly as many rallies as he has in the past.
I put the number at 20%. I know, I know, probably ‘wishful thinking…’

I get it that conservatives don’t care enough about other people’s lives to take the simple precaution of wearing a mask. But you’d think that they’d realize more cases equals greater medical expenditures that eventually come out of their pockets in the form of higher insurance rates. I know they care about money. Perhaps if we frame it as expensive, rather than dangerous, the message will get through.
So all of these New Yorkers down here in Sussex that I see on a daily basis not following protocol, are conservatives? Who would have thought.
Yeah, you can tell the New Yorkers on sight.
And if you’re unaware that rich New Yorkers are often Republican, you’re thicker than I thought.
Way to miss the point, though. You’re awesome at that.
And all of those college kids who caused major transmission in the resort areas over the last several weeks are conservatives?
My point is that it’s not just conservatives, it’s stupid people in general….And yes, for some reason New Yorkers keep their license plates after they move here. It may have to do with a large fee charged by Delaware for getting a Delaware license plate. It also may be just pride, but I have noticed that some people I see in the developments have recently switched to Delaware plates.
And my point is it’s not just stupid people in general, it’s a decision by conservatives that the economy is more important than public health.
It takes a special kind of ignorance to particularize the situation, and to seek to deflect the conservative antagonism towards masks into a contest of anecdotes.
One group of people takes this seriously, and another doesn’t. The fact that stupid people also don’t take it seriously doesn’t make the fact that conservatives are driving this go away.
