Lefty, Come Home
When Lefty says “There isn’t much difference between Democrats and Republicans” and points to cowards and bought and paid for corporate shills like BHL, Coons and Carney as evidenced, he has a point. For “Dems” like BHL, Coons and Carney taxing rich people and corporation is always the problem and austerity is always the solution.
Our party has a history of promoting corporate shills and cowards to leadership positions. We stopped being the people’s party and became the Oligarch’s Party under Bill Clinton. That’s a fact.
But is is also a fact that the party is changing. There is a new generation of leadership on the come up. It is a generation leadership that gets it.
State Party Chair,Erik Raser-Schramm
Executive Director, Jesse Chadderdon
Deputy Executive Director, Travis Williams
National Committeewoman, Evelyn Harris
City of Wilmington Chair, Cassandra Marshall
New Castle County Chair, Dave Woodside
From what I’ve seen, these people get it. And they are working hard to elect people who get it. There may be more that I’m missing.
Thanks for the shout out.
Just my opinion, but voters are the ones making decisions around here. The party is giving all candidates an opportunity to make their case to voters. I have worked hard to stay out of primaries and make certain that there is a level playing field for all Dems in the county (and this is true in many parts of the party).
Once the votes are counted in September, all of us are committed to getting the winners elected in November and ensuring that we get as many voters engaged along the way.
Yes but also fuck those Sell out centrist corporate fuck sacks, Right Comrade?
*wink*
I think this is Erik’s and Jesse’s last cycle with the state party. IMO, they’ve been fantastic.
Someone asked me offline why I lump BHL in with bought and paid for corporate shills Coons and Carney. If elected to the governorship, I’m sure she’d be as bought and paid for as any Democratic governor. But really it is her cowardice that gets me. We are talking about a nurse who opposed the indoor smoking ban because she was worried about losing a few votes. If I’ve missed some instance when she risked political capital to do the right thing, someone please let me know.
To be clear, I’ve never disliked Hall-Long, the only emotion I’ve ever felt is disappointment.
