Beau Zebley no longer has any plausible deniability when it comes to claiming that his organization is simon-pure when it comes to tilting races at the last minute. According to the 8-day report of the ‘Strengthening Our Community Third Party Advertising Committee’, which is a realtors’ organization specifically created to circumvent the $600 maximum contribution limit, this realtors PAC just dumped the following amounts into local campaigns:
$3,774.55 to John Viola.
$6,735.95 to Gerald Brady (?)
$7894.95 to Dave McBride
$7,927.10 to Bruce Ennis.
That’s $26,332.55 in last-minute contributions from (h/t to Blue Delaware) ‘a “third party advertising committee”, (which) appears to have been created for independent expenditures (campaign advertising) where there are no monetary limits.‘
Either Beau Zebley flat-out lied to us when it came to the dirty nature of the realtors’ political activity, or he had no clue what was going on. Hardly a defense. In case you’re wondering, yes, this ‘third party Pac’ shares the same address as the realtors’ PAC: 134 E. Water Street, Dover DE. Beau? Beau?
These are ‘thumb-on-the-scale’ style contributions, and make a mockery of laws that seek to limit undue influence on the political process. The realtors’ hands are dirty. Real dirty.
