Trump’s Batshit Crazy Phone Call To The Georgia Secretary Of State

Filed in Featured, National by on January 3, 2021

Wow, I mean, wow!

Even by Trump standards, this is insane:

‘I just want to find 11,780 votes.’

BTW, this call took place–yesterday.

This country is more degraded than Nazi Germany, which at least produced Nazis who tried to assassinate their führer.

  2. Jason330 says:

“Bradford Jay Raffensperger is an American politician and civil engineer from the state of Georgia. A Republican, he serves as the secretary of state of Georgia. He previously served in the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 50”

Thanks for not succumbing to the insane ravings of the President, Bradford.

    • Andrew C says:

He’s amazing on this phone call. How many times I listened to the clips where Trump said something absolutely insane or suggested an obviously illegal activity, and Raffensperger just calmly rebuffs him, or says nothing. He was put in an impossible position and he had to know everyone would hear this phone call really goddamn soon.

  3. OK, now we’ve got the full transcript and the full audio of the call.

From the very beginning, it’s even nuttier than the snippets that were posted earlier:

These are not the musings of someone who plans to leave office on January 20.

    • Jason330 says:

“There is no way I lost.” I only read half and must have said that 30 times.

      His block-headed stupidity is breathtaking.

After Trump spews utter nonsense for what seem like an hour:

Raffensperger: Mr. President, the problem you have with social media, they — people can say anything.

  4. Andrew C says:

On a lighter note, how many times do you think general counsel to the Georgia secretary of state’s office Ryan Germany has been called Ron Jeremy by accident?

  5. Paula says:

    copy-paste:

Trump: Okay, whatever, it’s a disaster. It’s a disaster. Look. Here’s the problem. We can go through signature verification, and we’ll find hundreds of thousands of signatures, if you let us do it.

  6. Alby says:

Caligula’s horse was better qualified for its seat in the Roman Senate. And it probably smelled better, too.

    He is losing it.

ATLANTA — A recorded one-hour discussion between President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger will now be heading to the courts, according to Georgia’s Republican Party chairman.

Hours after the Washington Post broke the story of a call where Trump is heard pressuring the state election head to “recalculate” the votes, Republican Party chair David Shafer said the president plans to sue.

“President @realDonaldTrump has filed two lawsuits – federal and state – against @GaSecofState,” Shafer tweeted. “The telephone conference call @GaSecofState secretly recorded was a ‘confidential settlement discussion’ of that litigation, which is still pending.”

Shafer, earlier in the afternoon, called the recording “mind boggling” and suggested that it was done by Raffensperger and his lawyers.

  8. jason330 says:

“University of Georgia Law Professor Anthony Michael Kreis told Politico reporters Allie Bice, Kyle Cheney, Anita Kumar, and Zach Montellaro that it is against the law in Georgia for anyone to “solicit” or “request” election fraud. “There’s just no way that… he has not violated this law,” Kreis said. Michael R. Bromwich, former inspector general of the Department of Justice, tweeted that “unless there are portions of the tape that somehow negate criminal intent,” Trump’s “best defense would be insanity.”

  9. bamboozer says:

Charges must be filed after Biden assumes office, there is no ignoring this outrage. Time for the judicial system to take charge and enforce the law, even if Trump does run for it and leave the country. In addition assorted senators and congressman should face a charge of sedition, and we can start with the disgusting as ever Ted Cruz.

  10. nathan arizona says:

Maybe Trump likes Ryan Germany’s last name because of his fondness for that country’s former government.

    • Al? ‘Impossible Germany’ as Song Of the Day?

      • mediawatch says:

Maybe our great local newspaper will jump on this one … Could make a quick call to determine whether there’s a link between Georgia’s Ryan Germany and our own Ryan German of Caffe Gelato in Newark.

      • Alby says:

Not a bad idea, though for some reason Wilco never gets much traffic. Our readership has a distinct preference for the ’60s and ’70s.

  11. DD Martin says:

I’m not sure which is scarier, a clearly insane POTUS, or his numerous but profoundly unintelligent supporters. George Carlin one said ” Beware of stupid people in large groups”. It’s too bad he didn’t live long enough to see his warning prove true.
