Song of the Day 1/9: Was (Not Was), “Dad I’m in Jail”
Lots of people who joined Vanilla Isis should be singing this one this morning, though maybe without the “Dad” — I read somewhere that the average age of the cosplay commandos is over 40. This is the last track from the 1982 Was (Not Was) LP “What Up, Dog?”
There were some really interesting tracks on that album. One was about a conspiracy theory, ironically enough.
One of my all-time fave albums.
I once had this on my answering machine, with a message that was something like:
‘This is Ron Aiello. Tanzer can’t come to the phone right now. Leave a message and…hey Kermit Junior, stop eating up all my pizza.’ (Uh, you see, both-ex County Councilman Aiello and the son of convicted felon and former DELDOT Secretary Kermit Justice were both in jail at the time. Didn’t want the reference to elude you…)
Sen. Roger Martin happened to call , told me to take it down.
