DL Open Thread 1/20/21: Inauguration Day

It is  almost equal parts “Fuck off, Trump, you piece of shit DAY!” and Inauguration Day.  It is too bad that Trump was able to fuck up the transition as much as he did.  But when you look at his track record of fucking things up, the over the top level of fucked-upedness wasn’t at all surprising.

Anyway, Trump threw everything he had at the Democracy envisioned by the founders and the Democracy held (for now).  That is worth celebrating and I’m going to celebrate by using this space to highlight the excellent work of the Delaware Call and REV’s Highlands Bunker.  So here are a couple of podcasts and stories that you may have missed that really deserve your attention and thoughtful consideration.

Anyone wary of State Senator Sarah McBride’s close connections to Jack Markell and worried what that connection might signal in terms of McBrides approach to politics and policies should listen to this podcast.

You think Drew Serres is a Delaware Progressive MVP?  You think the Eugene Young campaign had some downstream impact?  You don’t know the half of it.   Listen to Maria Beauchamp  talk about the rising left-wing political movement in Puerto Rico, and how it was partially inspired by Network Delaware.

Highlands Bunker: Capriotti’s For Everybody (w/Dave Weigel)

I haven’t listened to this one yet, but Weigel is an interesting guy.  I’ sure is it pretty great.
