Editor’s note: Guest post by Nathan Arizona Many of Elvis Presley’s early hits were written and performed by black rhythm & blues artists. His first single, “That’s All Right Mama,” was written by Arthur “Big Boy” Crudup in 1946. Elvis already knew about Crudup and other black musicians. He had seen him perform (using a […]

Delaware General Assembly Pre-Game Show: Tuesday, January 26, 2021

Yet another truncated session (wash, rinse, repeat) featuring (not highlighted by) Gov. Carney’s State Of The State Address.  For reasons I can’t explain, most of Delaware’s recent governors deliver these addresses robotically, Markell being the exception.  Robotically–say, you don’t suppose…? Carney will also submit his budget proposal on Thursday. A real Democratic governor would embrace […]

Most commenters seem to think that Trump is just floating this MAGA Patriot Party to keep Senate jurors in line.  That makes sense. I only hope the MAGA idiots who Trump is using in the ploy take him seriously and bolt the GOP.    MAGA Patriot Party National Committee files with Federal Election Commission WASHINGTON, D.C. […]

Editor’s note: I’ve been under the weather — a kidney stone hailstorm — so Nathan Arizona has agreed to handle the Song of the Day for a spell. Gene Clark was probably the most talented member of one of the most important bands of the 1960s, the Byrds. Though Roger McQuinn, who founded the band […]

How does inflation work?  I think we all know the answer to that question because we’ve internalized Monetary Theory as babies internalize breast milk.  “Too many dollars chasing too few goods.”  When the demand in an economy strongly outweighs the money supply, prices go up.   Therefor money supply must be tight or we’ll have […]

“Some of us are like a shovel brigade that follow a parade down Main Street cleaning up.”–Chief-Of-Staff Donald Regan after a typical Reagan screw-up. I know it’s like removing ticks from an abused dog.  Here are the MAGAt bloodsuckers who Biden has forced out of government since he took office: Kathleen Kraninger: Director Of The […]

Editor’s note: I’ve been under the weather — a kidney stone hailstorm — so Nathan Arizona has agreed to handle the Song of the Day for a spell. The vaccine is finally here. The Vaccines have already been here a while, since their debut a decade ago. The post-punk indie guitar band from the UK […]

Delawareans who tried to get a dose of Covid vaccine on Saturday spent up to seven hours waiting in line, and many gave up before getting a shot. Republicans, like vampires, aren’t good at self-reflection, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that after about 24 hours of acting stunned, GOPers have decided not to rethink anything, […]

Editor’s note: I’ve been under the weather — a kidney stone hailstorm — so Nathan Arizona has agreed to handle the Song of the Day for a spell. The great slugger Henry Aaron died yesterday and the accolades are pouring in. Here’s a song about Hammerin’ Hank, who passed Babe Ruth’s career home run record […]

Trump Tried To Engineer Coup At DOJ In Order To Flip Georgia.  This stuff is so much more enjoyable now that he’s out of office.  This just has to be–criminal, doesn’t it?: WASHINGTON — The Justice Department’s top leaders listened in stunned silence this month: One of their peers, they were told, had devised a […]
