Trump impeachment “defense” lawyer Bruce Castor says ‘don’t impeach, just go to Mara Lago arrest him.’
I say impeach AND go arrest him.

ATLANTA — Prosecutors in Fulton County have initiated a criminal investigation into former President Donald J. Trump’s attempts to overturn Georgia’s election results, including a phone call he made to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger in which Mr. Trump pressured him to “find” enough votes to help him reverse his loss.

On Wednesday, Fani Willis, the recently elected Democratic prosecutor in Fulton County, sent a letter to numerous officials in state government, including Mr. Raffensperger, requesting that they preserve documents related to Mr. Trump’s call, according to a state official with knowledge of the letter. The letter explicitly stated that the request was part of a criminal investigation, said the official, who insisted on anonymity to discuss internal matters.

With or without impeachment, Dems still have the option of finding Trump ineligible for future office under the Fourteenth Amendment by a simple majority in both houses. Not a bad idea while we still control Congress.

I like it because Trump would continue to raise money from idiots as if he was a candidateand it could really mean the end of the GOP as those idiots and dead enders (1/3rd of the GOP?) followed Trump into the abyss.

If Trump were ineligible in 2024 that would depress red state turnout but Trump would still get 5-10% from write-ins.

As predicted Trump’s games follow him out the White House door, so shall it be the rest of his days as court shall be his destiny. This is the beginning, much more is to come, suspect it will be the same at some point for the rest of his crime family. May not be the full Mussolini treatment, but it will not be happy sailing either. A warning for the next would be dictator.

Trump’s ban from Twitter is permanent:

Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial is probably not the only concern he currently has. Twitter, Trump’s social media platform of choice, confirmed that the former president is facing a lifelong ban, not a temporary ban, from the platform. Whether or not Trump decides to run for president again will not impact this decision—he will remain banned, Twitter Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal told CNBC News.

“The way our policies work, when you’re removed from the platform, you’re removed from the platform — whether you’re a commentator, you’re a CFO, or you are a former or current public official,” Segal said. “Remember, our policies are designed to make sure that people are not inciting violence, and if anybody does that, we have to remove them from the service and our policies don’t allow people to come back.”
