The last guy
My life has been objectively better since last guy stopped dominating the headlines. I’m enjoying taking part in the new national pastime – ignoring that loser. And yet part of me is thrilled to see that the GOP is still committed to this DEEPLY unpopular candidate.
Charlie Carretti, a retiree in Honesdale who used to work in publishing, said, “The guy did a great job as president, and Democrats just don’t want to give that to him.” He called the impeachment case “a joke, a charade and a waste of time” that was designed by Democrats “only to hurt the guy.”
Carretti, 70, said that he hopes (redacted) runs again in 2024 and that (redacted), as his impeachment defense lawyers argued, was devoid of responsibility for the violent Capitol mob.
Being in proximity to the airbase I run into old farts like this all the time, at some point you always get “30 years in the air force!” or something like that, all are Trump lovers, all are bitter. All are above all else sore losers.
The reporters never ask the follow-up question, “Oh yeah? What did he do a great job on?”
“owning libs”
I work in an office of Karens and there are probably 12 Trump supporters, 8 others politically ambivalent but easily swayed by cultural wedges, and 2 to 3 liberals (or at least, anti-Trump).
They’re exhausting. Their answer would be “[something something] freedom,” or the Supreme Court nominees to overturn abortion law, or Second Amendment stuff. Some of them appear to be single-issue voters and there’s no reasoning with those people.
Except the SCOTUS didn’t overturn any abortion laws, they upheld them. There has been no movement on the 2nd Amendment either way.
My point being, he didn’t do shit, and there’s no credible way for them to claim he has. These people are dumbass shit-eaters, and they should be reminded of it constantly. Not by you, you have to work with them. But if you give me their names and addresses I’d be happy to write to them telling them they’re assholes.
