An Era Of Good Feelings?

It was more like 24 hours, but it was a good 24 hours.

On Tuesday evening, Larry Lambert, Kyle Evans Gay, and Sarah McBride hosted a Zoom meeting with DELDOT officials to discuss traffic issues impacting their and my districts.  Larry convened the meeting, and asked a series of questions about issues impacting his district. He seemed to know every patch of asphalt in the 7th.  Kyle and Sarah did the same.  They had clearly prepped the DELDOT officials as to their concerns, and the entire evening was very helpful and informative.  Larry’s legislative assistant, Dylan Tepper, did a great job organizing this.  Once DELDOT had answered all of their questions, we got to ask all of ours.

Man, DELDOT has come a long way from the bureaucratese of yesteryear.  The people who staffed our meeting from DELDOT could not have been more helpful.

I got a real kick out of the synergy among the three legislators.  They really like each other, and it’s clear that they enjoy what they’re doing.  We’re really fortunate up here in the 7th RD.

So, I’m at work on Wednesday, and who should I run into?  Sally McBride, Sarah’s mom.  We couldn’t have had a more enjoyable conversation. She told me that Sarah just loves her district, which includes north Wilmington, Bellefonte and Claymont.  She raved about the sense of community in the district.

Well, that made my day.
