I know we’ll hear from the defense that George Floyd was a deranged, drug-crazed maniac and the murderous cops were in fear for their lives, but…

911 Dispatcher Jena Scurry Testimony That Opened the Trial Seems Pretty Damming

Lock her up.

The Supreme Court on Monday denied a bid by a right-wing government watchdog group to require former Democratic presidential nominee to face a deposition over her use of personal email while she served as secretary of State.

In an unsigned order issued without comment, the justices declined an appeal from Judicial Watch that followed a ruling last August by a federal appeals court panel which said Clinton could not be compelled to sit for a deposition.

It is 2021 and AI still sucks at writing pickup lines.

  1. Alby says:

There’s an op-ed in the News Journal from the Delaware Open Government people that takes the Pollyanna view of an inspector general. All well and good until they hold up as an example of a state with a robust inspector general system: Florida.

Fucking Florida. When that’s your idea of a success story, you should fold up your tent and make another wish of your fairy godmother.

  2. Maybe this is why Matt Gaetz was openly musing about leaving elective office?:

    An excerpt:

“Representative Matt Gaetz, Republican of Florida and a close ally of former President Donald J. Trump, is being investigated by the Justice Department over whether he had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old and paid for her to travel with him, according to three people briefed on the matter…

…The three people said that the examination of Mr. Gaetz, 38, is part of a broader investigation into a political ally of his, a local official in Florida named Joel Greenberg, who was indicted last summer on an array of charges, including sex trafficking of a child and financially supporting people in exchange for sex, at least one of whom was an underage girl.

Mr. Greenberg, who has since resigned his post as tax collector in Seminole County, north of Orlando, visited the White House with Mr. Gaetz in 2019, according to a photograph that Mr. Greenberg posted on Twitter.”

Here’s my fave quote from Gaetz:

“I have a suspicion that someone is trying to recategorize my generosity to ex-girlfriends as something more untoward.”

    He’s a victim, I tell ya, a VICTIM.
