The news is tiring again today, but some light breaks through and change is possible as Maryland repealed the state’s police bill of rights. Also, on this date in 1743 Thomas Jefferson, 3rd President of the United States (1801-09), was born in Albemarle County, Virginia. All drunk on the Enlightenment, he wrote "all men are created equal". Of course he meant American born white men of property were equal to Brittish born white men of property, but we commoners had our own interpretation.
