Until I see some legitimate action, the “GOP Rationals” are as imaginary to me as Big Foot & Jesus.
Dozens of Republicans are planning to call for reforms amid escalating divisions within their party and are threatening to form a separate group if GOP members do not break away from former President Trump.
The more than 100 former Republican officials are expected to release their demands in a letter on Thursday titled “A Call For American Renewal,” according to plans shared with Reuters and later reported by NBC News.
The letter states that Republicans must “either reimagine a party dedicated to our founding ideals or else hasten the creation of such an alternative,” according to NBC News.
I’ll bet that one of the demands in this letter will be a demand for Obama to produce his birth certificate.
Those washed-up former officials have no cards to play. They are exactly the kind of Republicans the Trumpers despise and have prevailed over in primary after primary.
Meanwhile, another group of powerless once-upon-a-time leaders — this one a bunch of low-level generals and admirals, most long retired — has released an open letter than sounds like the high-pitched whining typical of the Last Guy.
