Manchin says he will vote against Democrats’ sweeping voting rights bill
- Sen. Joe Manchin said he will vote against the sweeping federal election reform bill introduced by congressional Democrats.
- The decision by the moderate West Virginia Democrat essentially guarantees the legislation will fail to pass in Congress.
- The bill, also known as S.1, would require a minimum of 10 GOP votes to move past the filibuster and move to a final vote on passage.

He’s not an effin’ “Moderate”. He’s a mouth breathing, coal-dust spewing dick-wad and as long as the Dem. party insists on not disavowing him and as long as Biden refuses to take him to the public woodshed I will not send one penny of contributions to the national DNC or any other Dem. senatorial campaign anywhere. Fetterman is the only Dem. Senate candidate I will support and I will continue sending him donations.
Representative John Kowalko
You really are unhinged.
Is it really worth all this effort to leave such uninspired comments?
Yeah. That “moderate” in the blurb is galling.
So now Coons has to find ELEVEN Republican Senator friends to vote for the bill. How much voter suppression would we have to add to the bill to get eleven Republican votes?
If the Republicans actually had legislation on their agenda, Manchin could start talking about the need to find “nine good Democrats.”
Make that seven — he’s already got Sinema and Coons.
