The Claudettes Coming To Arden!!
WHO, you might ask…
My kind of band. First concert I’ve booked since the pandemic took live music away from us. Why tell you when I can show you?:
And the opener? The most-in-demand keyboard player in Chicago, who just HAPPENS to be the chief songwriter and the keyboard player for the Claudettes, Johnny Iguana. With a name like that, he had to end up in show biz–and/or pro rasslin’. Here’s a taste:
The Claudettes, and I quote:
“…describe their shows as ‘Garage Cabaret’. One writer calls them a ‘…rollicking post-lounge, acid-cabaret, piano-driven alt-boogie ensemble.’ Great musicians, a killer sultry lead singer, a combination of blues/soul/jazz/rock, and a whole lotta fun. A perfect show for Halloween weekend!
The Claudettes fuse Chicago piano blues with the full-throttle energy of rockabilly and punk and the sultriness of ’60s soul to write a thrilling new chapter in American roots music. Johnny Iguana pounds the piano alongside seductive singer Berit Ulseth, bassist/guitarist/singer Zach Verdoorn and drummer Michael Caskey. Johnny, who toured for years with his cult-favorite rock band oh my god, is also in the Grammy-nominated groups Chicago Blues: A Living History and the Muddy Waters 100 Band. He has toured/recorded with Junior Wells, Buddy Guy, Otis Rush and more and played piano on the Chicago Plays the Stones album featuring Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Buddy Guy.”
The show takes place on Saturday, October 30 at the Arden Gild Hall. A fun night is guaranteed for all. Interested? Go here: https://ardenconcerts.com/event/the-claudettes/.
Me? I’m coming in costume, the same one I wore for 24 years. Yep, I’m gonna dress up as ‘a non-essential state employee’.
They go hard. This looks like fun.
